They did better than I expected. I have hunted with them using a number 11 hobby knife blade broadhead, backed by a half inch brass tube ferrule for weight and FOC, but never just the bare skewer. For birds I use carbon steel nails with flattened and sharpened tips. It makes for about a 1/4 inch razor sharp cutting edge. Penetration is very important, but cutting and rapid hemorrhage is what brings them down quickly.

If i use bamboo darts its at limited range even compared to my normal range but id like to see a bamboo dart with some sort of broadhead built on it
