i remember when this song is release for the first time, my ear and heart is just suddenly falling in love

Adele can sing, write and has a good sense of humor. It's crazy how fast time can fly as it seemingly feels like it's standing still. She has grown up in front of us while still being more of a private celebrity which makes me like her even more. This is one of my all time favorite Adele somgs along with turning tables. I love that she's doing Vegas. In the first few weeks of the show she talks about how a few songs come about and it's simply amazing how she wrote that music from pretty much a snap shot of a memory and used that memory as the title. Turning tables and set fire to the rain.
Turning Tables :
They were eating at a Chinese restaurant and using the lazy Susan in the middle of table to spin and share food. He kept her chicken on his side to make her angry and turning the table to get her chicken. Hence the name turning tables.
Set fire to the rain:
She was madly in love with this guy. They were at home and fighting a little. She said she doesn't like the men she dates to see her cry over them so she went outside to walk. It was pouring rain. He come out chasing her and telling her to come back inside and she can't light the cigarette in the rain. He kept telling her that until she lit that ciggy she said. When she said she finally lit it she said BOOM! She's very stubborn like many of us are and refused not to get that ciggy to light after he kept telling her over and over she couldn't do it. Hence the title Set fire to the rain.

2009, seems like a time fading from memory…. I was 25 I still remember her introducing me to Adele. I now remember why it’s so hard to hear this song. She vividly comes back like I’m in non-linear time. All the feelings, all the intensity…. This was the year that everything changed for me. My confidence wrecked, my whole hearted intentions, the words I kept tucked away and the empty ness that occurred after I said them. I was wrecked from that moment. I lost myself, I lost my heart. The trauma from such heart break changes you for the rest of your life. You spend years lost. You spend years as a stranger to yourself and happiness. Something in you drones on forever saying you won’t come back from that failure…you lose yourself into the future. Absurd grief. Then you see yourself writing this wondering how absolution feels and there is nothing to erase those moments. Because only in your universe does this pain exist. No one realizes it is there or it’s depth. They can’t see those depths in you, and it’s immensity is too deep to show to others. You will carry it for the rest of your life. This song fishes it out immediately. It’s terrifyingly overwhelming to experience again. Such agony!
