I hate the closing bar I am short so I take off and dump but I don’t use the dome been doing it since 1993

if only Farrah Fawcett allowed to have this, she would still be alive. But she chose not to have her intestine cut and did chemo but no surgery, used homeopathy in Germany but didn't work.

I've only used the drain-able with Velcro closures. I don't tuck it into my pants so the end doesn't bother me. I tend to wear somewhat over-sized shirts that cover the bag completely and the bag isn't usually noticeable unless it's getting full. Unless I'm really focused on whatever I'm doing, I usually notice before it gets that full and empty it. I had a lot of issues with leaks at first, and I hate the bag tugging on my side if I'm standing, so I don't usually let it get very full.

Can you possibly do a members video or live with more info on the non-drainable emptying. I tried it the other day and made a mess and was so frustrate with myself. Thanks for all you do!!!

This is very cool Maggie. zUou're the first person ever known with one like this. I don't have this particular issue but I wonder if government insurance would cover this kind of bag for someone.

My mom had an ostomy bag. The nurses in her care facility always made a huge mess of her clothes. Wish they would have learned how not to make a mess from you.

I mean no harm or hate by this but how do approach the topic of sex while having the bag? I would assume you tell them in the beginning , but idk.
And does it effect anything sexual wise?

Do you have to wear it forever now? My friend used to wear one is these and I ALWAYS remembered how awful it use to smell. So bad that it run us out is the restroom. I guess back then they weren't medically it was definitely different. Her bags were plastic. And you could see everything. Unlike the one you're wearing.

I has to wear one for 10 months, it was a nightmare and caused me severe depression and anxiety. Thank God i was able to get it reversed.

I wish I had seen you 4 years ago when my large intestines ruptured and I went into a sepsis coma for 4 days and when I woke up was so sick I found myself in the ICU and not till almost 3 weeks later didn’t realize I had 2 colostomy bags on cause I had to have one for drainage from being sepsis my doctors told me I shouldn’t be alive , but they had a tube in me for draining the crap and besides have tubes everywhere they found out I had COPD so I had to have lung treatments also, I went home after a month in a hospital but didn’t want to leave my home with my bags on thinking people would know I wish I had your great attitude but I was ashamed instead my husband would clean them for me and he hired a care nurse to come in every day to change my bags and clean the holes he was wonderful about helping me and doing anything to help me get through this, I just couldn’t even look at the openings of where the bags went , then 8 months later my surgeon who saved my life told me he was gonna do a reversal and again in ICU for 10 days and another 9 days in a regular room and I went home but now I have many issues with my stomach.. I’m sharing this all cause if at the time I had your look on it is what it is about having those bags and accepted it , I probably would be in better health today if I left well enough alone and was just thankful to be Alive! So I thank you for your Positive Attitude!!

I find many pouch adhesives irritate the skin. It causes redness, and after a while, it's itches.

I helped my grandmother with her first pouch and she was so embarrassed mostly by noises it made. Thank you for sharing the various experiences so people understand the new coupling devices that make it cleaner and more convenient!!!😊

You are lucky girl! The way the Dr. Cut me it's impossible to keep the the bag sealed on my skin. Thank God , mine was only temporary, but I know it will end up being permanent and then it will be a nightmare. Even the nurses were, just could not understand how it was ever going to seal. Where do you buy the stoma domes

It's funny, my daughter has a drainable pouch, but she still takes it off to empty. The bag is bigger, which is why we like it, but it's still easier to take it off and clean the ring instead of trying to clean where it drains. I have to stick my finger inside of it to clean it (with toilet paper obviously) and I just don't like it lmao but when she was a baby, I would empty her bag into a diaper so it being able to open was perfect for that.

I want to meet a girlfriend with an ostomey.
