I have question why the read is just at 7050 mb/s and under that is at 4200-4700/mb s are this normal? Owh are writeable size is just 838 Gb for 1 tb size? Thx
Ответитьit's kinda weird... but last I checked 5000MB/s was 10 times more than "half a gig".
ОтветитьBought the 990 pro yesterday
Ответить....having both the 990 Pro and the T700 Pro from crucial on PCI Gen5 with a 7800X3D, the T700 Pro gives me 11,080 MB/s in sequential writing while the 990 pro only 7,400 MB/s. The difference is very noticeable while launching games such as MS FS2020 but not really in other applications.
Ответить980 Pro was much cheaper when I bought two of them. 990 isn’t much faster you won’t notice it lmao. Didn’t want to deal with the firmware failures of the 990.
ОтветитьFYI The 990 if you buy through the Samsung App. you get $25 off. I just bought the 990 4tb w/heatsink for $329. Everywhere else and on the Samsung website it is $354.
ОтветитьFantastic breakdown bud. I just installed a 990 Pro in my PC tonight. Looking forward to the blazing fast speeds. 👍
ОтветитьIs there a manufacture date after which I can be certain the 990 Pro has the updated firmware? Buying as a gift for PS5 and neither the recipient nor I currently own a personal PC on which we could check or update the firmware. Thank you.
ОтветитьShould I get the 980 pro 2tb with heat sink or 2tb 990 pro for my PS5 with the 980pro 2tb cheaper right now?
ОтветитьGot the 2T 990 Pro for $110. 980 Pro just isn’t worth it for the price it’s going right now unless you just really don’t trust the newer version’s durability.
Ответитьl had just Samsung 990 PRO 2TB PCIe 4.0
ОтветитьHow do you update the firmware if used in a ps5?
ОтветитьBought one for my pc build its amazing never downloaded things so fast before
ОтветитьYou know in these videos no one ever shows what these ssd upgrades do lmao we just see numbers. Is it all a scam or what is it suppose to do better in reality where can we use it and see what it does lol no one does those videos tho
ОтветитьI just bought the 4TB Version of the 990, main reason are the iops. Drive feels way snappier than my 980 Pro and I will probably switch out all my 980 against the 990.
ОтветитьThis video is so informative and so helpful, thank you so much for explaining it so clearly and being engaging while doing it. Your speaking cadence is very easy to listen to. Cheers!
Ответить$100 for the 2Tb on amazon right now
ОтветитьI’m assuming it doesn’t really matter which one you get for ps5 tho, correct?
ОтветитьAnother question -- I know off topic,... But which enclosure would you suggest for 4 x Samsung 990 4TB drives (total of 16TB)? I want it only for backup on a Mac. It will be stationary and not transported. Thanks.
ОтветитьI just bought a Sandisk Professional G40 - 4TB unit because I wanted the IP68 for hard traveling... What do you know about these drives? Is it a real problem with them crashing or having issues?
Ответить980 pro 1Tb 49$ 💪
Ответитьeven in the most demanding games, you will only see a 1 second difference in load times.
ОтветитьSN850X 2TB only 99 bucks let’s go!!!
ОтветитьThank you for clarifying about the firmware update for the 990 I was skeptical on getting it because of hearing that problem and I’m glad it was fixed and will now be making my purchase
Ответитьbut compared to hdd price per tb, nvme is still a scam XD
Ответитьright so has the firm ware been sorted yes or no if i buy one will i be safe as long as i make sure i update firm ware using wizard strait answer please
ОтветитьMy 980 has been in a state of imminent complete failure for almost 14 months?
ОтветитьI couldn't decide so I bought both
ОтветитьWonderful video!!!!!!!!… PLEEEEASEEEE, make a head to head between the 990 Pro with heatsink vs Seagate Firecuda 530 with heatsink. I want a 2TB SSD for my new PS5.
ОтветитьThe spec durability is what is warrantied, but what is the actual durability? They will last longer than their spec, but how much longer? 20%? 100%? 5000%?
ОтветитьI have chosen to avoid gen5 nvme drives purely because they run so bloody hot and require active cooling, not to mention the early adopter tax for crash test dummies. For myself reliability and endurance are my main points of interest and don't see any practical reason to "upgrade" from 5000-7000 MB/s gen4 2tb for OS and games and gen3/4 3000-4000 MB/s for my quick mass storage. Spinning rust is fine for my NAS and slow system storage needs where again i want reliablity and endurance even if i have to use slower spinning disks.
ОтветитьI really doubt that any NAS running a Celeron and pcie gen 3 will really take full advantage of either one of these drives. In my option write life is more important then speed. Most people don't have a network and or workstation fast enough to really notice the difference. Even the slowest nvme pcie 3 drive is faster then any HDD.
ОтветитьThis is a topic that I wanted to see!!
ОтветитьHAH the seagull in the background. 🙂
Ответитьdoes it make sense to get 990 Pro for PCIe 3.0 x4 slot in a server/nas with VMs and higher I/O? small blocks random read/writes shouldn't be bottlenecked there, but will its performance at such uses remain maximum? or would dedicated server-grade SSDs justify their higher costs in that regard?
ОтветитьDo you Know any places where you can get a nas motherboard repaired I have a WD ex4100?
