Hi I am new to youtubing and my camera is the dragon touch vision 3 (a budget action camera) and it only has a usb and micro usb port. can i just use an adapter to connect a mic to my camera?

Question: we periodically hold a zoom session with cameras in a classroom. 2 cameras for video only. Another for audio only. We’ve been able to be pretty successful with the video side of things. Not so with audio. Can you recommend a microphone for this setting. Our classroom patrons (about 10-15) need to be able to respond in a conversational manner so as to not inhibit their input. Also we need to be able to hear the input from our zoom attendees. We understand that the zoom participants rely on their own microphone. Our challenge is in the classroom.
Any advice you could give would surely be appreciated.

What's the difference in a mic for a phone and one for a camera? Why is there a switch on the Boya mic?

I've tried using a Rode shotgun Mic on my 4K handy cam - the sound is still pretty hit and miss when using it 2 / 3 feet away. I do have a Blue Yeti usb mic, so my current thinking is that I'll get a USB apple dongle and plug the yeti into the phone and record video and audio that way.

I have a TAKSTAR SGC-598 Shotgun Microphone mounted on my camera I purchased 3-4 years ago. It has worked great, sounds good and the battery lasts a long time. I have never turned it on and the battery was dead, and that has gave me a lot of confidence that it will work. TY

Just wondering you said that the 1. BOYA BY-M1 Lavalier microphone (Under $20) has a wire but is also battery operated. I am very confused does it use a battery or does it need to be plugged in to use?

I prefer the shotgun mic sound.

I use the Purple Panda lavalier mic. it always sounds really good in other people's videos, but I just can't get it sounding good at all for some reason!? You can hear it and most of my newer videos on my channel. it always comes out sounding muffled. I use (the recommended) Audacity software to clean it up a little bit. Noise reduction mostly. Yet still.. it just never sounds good enough. if anybody has any suggestions, please let me know. Again you can hear the examples in all of my later videos on my channel. Any help would be super appreciated!

I have seen on other reviews that the Takstar has a lot of background noise. Was this the case and you added noise reduction or is this the pure sound quality. Would you choose the Boya or Takstar?

How can we connect more than 2 lav mics to one receiver for use with a DSLR camera?

How are you supposed to demonstrate the audio quality of a mic when you're not using it in the way it was intended to be used? I've heard that blue snowball in other videos sound way better, because when you're holding it you're constantly changing the distance between it and your mouth. Not to mention a lot of the time you seemed to have it closer than it would be on a desk. Doesn't feel like you gave it a fair shot.
