Unplugging tv and sound bar and then plugging and switching on tv in first and then sound bar worked for me.

Is it best to connect soundbar to tv or cablebox?
Would you suggest hdmi or optical cable?

Yeah it’s plugged in. It just decides not to fucking work. Connecting the tv to the internet is the worst decision I’ve ever made

I just bought a LG soundbar with brand new hdmi cable. I plugged it into my Samsung TV and it immediately worked. But when I plug it into my Roku tv, which is where I want the soundbar, no sound comes out. I’m doing it all right. I unplug the cords, as soon as I plug it back in, sound comes on for 2 seconds and then it stops and never works again. Do you think you can help me? 😢

I just got a new TV and was struggling to get the sound bar to work after setting everything up. You mentioned the Blu ray player so I unplugged that HDMI plug from the TV and then unplugged the TV and sound bar from the wall. Plugged everything in but the blu-ray player and it works again.

My soundbar HW-Q6B got updated to the latest firmware now no sound, I have tried using Blue Tooth from my phone, it's connects to the sound bar but produces no sound.

Ived done all you said and I’ve got no sound with the Bluetooth 😒

What do you do if the hdmi on the tv Samsung one box is not responding the sound bar works perfectly but the hdmi arc doesn’t and it’s not the cable

I had my Samsung soundbar working on my Sony TV for years then one day it stopped working. My soundbar was connected using digital audio optical cable. I tried your unplugging tv & soundbar advice and even replacing the optical cable but it still didn't work. I finally fixed it by going into tv sound settings and switching the audio format from PCM to Auto.

Great clear video Josh. I have a new Samsung Q990C soundbar connected to a new Samsung 77" 95C OLED TV... I'm having constant issues w the soundbar dropping out and losing all sound. Hard resetting solves the issue but then it doesn't last more than a few hours at best before issue returns. Have you cone across perhaps such an issue? many thx

Ive got a hisense soundbar and its become unresponsive and stuck on volume 85 and i cant change the modes its stuck on arc even when there us no hdmi plugged in any ideas????

My subwoofer quit working. The blue button will not come on at all for resetting. It's not very old. Is it junk?

I have several red & white audio rca ports on my Vizio tv. None are marked out (or in)
I had a zvox sound bar connected very easily. Worked a few days, then static is all I could hear on it.
Amazon had me to return it for credit & reorder another sound bar. We have a tv ears sound connected to the tv up front. The remote to the new one works up front. So it must be my connection to the back of the tv. The remote turns on the sound box & it lights up for voice
Enhancement… no sound.
I have pics of the connection ports, is there a way for meto send them to you?

Please help me… i ihave a TcL qled, & samsung q990 soundbar, it does not work using earc…

I have tried everything and nothing works, the sound bar itself works on Bluetooth but not hdmi, I have tried changing cables I have tried unplugging. The weirdest part, it was working on hdmi until I unplugged. So fed up. :/ I have lg 75ur81006lj and Samsung b650 sound bar

So what worked with me (Samsung TV and a Yamaha Soundbar), select the “receiver” where the sound is coming from in the tv. Had to do this a few times selecting back and forth for optical or tv sound. But finished placing it on “receiver - hdmi.” Then making sure the expert settings are set to what the sound bar is compatible with (Dolby in my case). If no sound yet, then switching to the soundbar’s hdmi input in the tv selection (device plugged to soundbar essentially), then switched back to the TV source (Samsung TV Plus in this case) and sound started working again. Must be a Samsung glitch possibly? Probably need to update the tv. Thanks for these suggestions Archway Tech!

This is over complicated and dumb

My issue is that wvery time i start the TV i have to restart my soundbar, TV and PlayStation about 3-5 times before i get the sound working. The soundbar goes via HDMI ARC and is great when I starts working. It just doesn't seem to recognise the soundbar the first times and is just silent. I have an older TV so I suspect that the issue is there somewhere. Would Optical work better in this case maybe?

Nothing I've tried, including suggestions in this video, have worked for my LG OLED65C1AUB and Bose Soundbar550. I'm five hours in to troubleshooting, reading every website and as many videos as I can find. Anyone have these two an been able to find a fix?

My Bose soundbar quit broadcasting. Looking at the sound settings, it was getting a signal.
I followed the part of unplugging everything and the order of re-plugging the power to the TV, etc. .

This didn't work for me. I've had mine for a few years now and it's still displaying like it's working, but no sound. Sometimes says s-mute but obviously plugged in correctly because it's worked for 3 years. Tried new cables no luck. Tried resetting my TV and that actually worked until I turned my TV off and back on again.

Excellent video! But my issue is I have sound when I turn on my TV, but as soon as I go into an application (other then Netflix) such as amazon prime, or I go to my gaming consoles (PS5 and Nintendo switch) the sound goes off. It's not a new tv or sound bar it was working for the past 2 years but now out of the blue it is doing this... Do you have any solution for that?

I have a bit of a different issue.
So the sound bar has no issue with volume when we are streaming Netflix or anything else, but it does not work when we are watching from the cable box.
Any ideas?

You're amazing! That worked. I've had my Samsung 8 series plugged in for years to my JBL sound bar through the ARC output. Just yesterday I got an ERROR on the sound bar and no sound would come out. I tried everything except your recommendation of unplugging everything in a specific order and plugging them back in. I just found your video and tried it and it worked! I'm so happy, phew!
