unfortunately if they have to add english dub, they will have a lot of project, its has been 8 years honkai impact debut. they will add from the U.I, main story, its have 42 chapter, + open world, abbys, and many more, its take more than a year to complete the english dub.
ОтветитьHonestly, I think the biggest problem might just be advertising. I'm not sure that I've ever seen an ad for HI3, I have seen some for GI and HSR even outside of Hoyo's own stuff. I have barely, if ever, seen ads for HI3 even within Hoyo's own stuff. I wouldn't have even known about it if I hadn't stumbled upon something talking about the similarities between Raiden Shogun and Mei, which eventually lead me to HI3 and now I like it even more than GI.
Ответить3rd reason isn't a real problem at all
ОтветитьOnce you finish part 1 of the story, there isn’t much else to do in the game except events and keeping up with the meta (which can get expensive & becomes tedious).
Also the meta has changed so much with part 2, making so many part 1 characters barely useable. Part 2 story isn’t the worst, but a lot of fans just aren’t into it for various reasons (usually because they miss the herrscher trio & aren’t interested in part 2 characters).
Add dark bolt Jonin to Elysiam realm🗿
ОтветитьI could not really care for an English voice translation as is not my first language but it could certainly benefit from translating to more languages.
I understand the bad points of not being updated to the newer stuff but one good thing about that is that we can know which characters are better for pulling or to skip cause they are tested on the Sea/Chinese Version
Lastly the lack of male playable characters is certainly something that could be disliked by a lot of people. Me personally I prefer it to having pure female playable characters but I wouldn’t mind if they add one or two male characters.
I think one thing that discourages the new players is the lack of open world gameplay, or at least at the beginning, since modern games are accustomed of having that feature and younger players seem to prefer that.
1 : Not possible, too much content to do actually and for a minor part of the players.
2 : How to make it happen without letting one of the side suffer ? It's not easy, if you do a skip of 1 version on the global, how much crystals are you going to give at all players ? And if you make an empty one on chinese server, what are you putting to make them wait ?
3 : No, the lore give us already a reason of why no male characters are playable, and that since ggz. and the community won't let this happen, people speak about the CN community, but you just have to watch reaction from some people here about the captain..
I play all their game in either CN or JP voice with EN sub. I find that people are more likely to be lazy to read is the problem. This guy is really trying to burn their current player base. You don't switch the style/genre of the game by suddenly adding a male to an all female cast that is there for YEARS. Not saying that you can't but it should be something thought out properly. You don't switch an FPS game to a Harvest moon game just like that. Alienating your current player base to chase what you assume could be a bigger audience. You know what is most likely one of the reason? It's an OLD game thus new players are less likely willing to try. Too many content, catching up, lots of characters.. probably impossible to collect if you like a lot of them.
ОтветитьMy changes would be;
1: standardize the Supply Drop costs to 160/1600 like their other titles.
2: Allow Supply Passes to be purchased with Honkai Crystals.
3: increase Honkai Crystals Rewards such that one can obtain up to 50-100 Pulls per Version.
They tried adding a male character once, it lead to intense backlash toward the developers and even an attempted attack at an office. They've had to come out and publicly apologize and state that they will never add male characters to main game and Adam would only be confined to APHO.
Ответитьi'll make a disclaimer on every point (if i can) ALERT OF TOO MUCH TEXT
1) the english voices= this is not entirely true since, even if you can hear what they say, the story is still complex and you need to pay attention to what they are saying and read anyways, the voices are just a secondary matter.
the "skippers" (GI players and/or smooth brains) will not pay attention, even with english voices.
personal opinion= english voices are cringe.
2) not a real issue here= knowing beforehand what will come on the next patches or leaks are not related to sinchronization, since in HSR is the same "issue". i knew acheron would come so that made me save enough tickets to get her, the only thing here is we dont always get the same rewards, and that yeah is an issue that needs to be fixed.
3) like a i said in another comment in hoyolab that is not possible for several reasons listed below:
a) the only male characters "alive" and could be playable right now in current lore are= welt / siegfried / grayserpent / baji /(and if they release apho3) adam and lyle / su is just a leaf= at this point of the story we are on mars, so the only one that could be released is baji.
b) the term "valkyries" for the roster of usable characters: hoyo will need to change it to "valkyries and berserkers" (to somewhant following the same viking style vibes= since the "only females could handle honkai energy" was debunked with welt and otto).
c) releasing a "dead" character like the flamechasers at this point is not plausible: hoyo does not release characters that they are already dead, they only release the ones that are from another bubble universe or alive in somewhat form, for example luna or sirin, and himeko, kallen, kasumi, rozaliya, kongming, theresa(magic girl), broboli and blue veliona, are already on the roster.
d) the cherry on top: the chinese say and hoyo obey= chinese playerbase does not want male chars (male DS deletion incident)
personal opinion= dividing the DS in two like in HSR made them "too plot weak" and HI3rd have a hard plot to follow... thats why in HSR the MC is just there "just because" and hoyo made their personality based on the memes of the comunity (racoon that search on trashcans or calling kafka "mommy" even if there are people like me who skipped her story or do not like firefly but the story ships the MC with firefly anyways) plus the plot moves itself around them "the choices matter" i call that bs so deleting the male DS was a necesary wrong doing for the sake of a good plot in HI3rd.
They should translate the game to more languages not only English, I've met a lot of people who don't play the game just because it doesn't have spanish translation
ОтветитьFull controller support to navigate main menu screen for mobile. The partial controller support makes it annoying to switch to-and-from game modes, events, MA, ER and others since some don’t take that long to complete.
ОтветитьI think part of the reason has to do with how Hi3 doesn't have a beautiful open world like genshin with breathtaking and nostalgic sceneries also most of the gameplay in genshin and star rail takes place in open worlds while in Hi3 most of the gameplay takes place in game modes with boring and dull scenaries like in MA and ER, but if hi3 were to make better quality open worlds then the game would be too heavy and not suitable for like 70% of phones. I don't mind the lack of English dub but I am very upset that most of the bridge dialogues does not have translation and Eng sub which is beyond unacceptable, however you make a good point about the lack of eng dub as it is prob why many western players do not play it. I personally don't like the idea of playable male characters in this type of game and of course it would be a taboo topic among chinese players since hoyo has promised them to have no playable male characters since the launch of Hi3, CN players already invested their time and money in the game so I see where the CN players are coming from and why their disapproval of playable male characters in the game is justified.
Ответитьadd eng VA retrospectively is ASTRONOMICAL undertaking
and i doubt it could help anything
how long and how old HI3 now?
besides, they have the data on hand, they're knew most player outside CN use JP VA anyway.
on old game as HI3 have hardcore fan especially in CN and believe me they don't want to piss those hardcore fan by introduce male playable characters in game.
1. more promotion for the game and ofc a boost reward, 2. translation for other language, 3. i agree, to really understand the story (especially character connection) at least you need to read the manga like become an otaku it self (you know going deeper to the lore) to understand it, idk ab part 2 since i still hasnt reach that part yet, is the part 2 also need to read manga to understand the story like part 1?... in hsr they really did a good job for making an animation relate to character lore like myriad celestia...
ОтветитьI strongly disagree in all 3 points. Maybe just the english could be an idea, even if many GLB players are linked to Japanase voices they are used to hear and luv.
ОтветитьHonkai Impact 3rd is bascially a yuri power fantasy and that is one of the main reasons it won't ever be as popular as Genshin or HSR
ОтветитьImagine how long it's going to take to English VA for an 8 year old game. As for content stuff I'm not too worried about getting spoiled as it at least preps me if I want to pull or not despite how bad it is to obtain crystals. The reason why this game I believe is still running because it's their main game and they put heart into it and there are other reasons too. Sure there reasons of not receiving attention (for all you new players that don't know, they removed some swimsuits and removed the touch feature and last year removed/simplified the variety of currencies). The players that already got the old swimsuits still have it I think. Meanwhile Genshin, HSR, and ZZZ are their main source of attraction, while Tears of Themis is probably dead game of theirs that's still running.
ОтветитьRather than an English dub, what this game has always needed is a proper translation. Even if it's just text, it doesn't matter as long as it's good. Sadly the translation has always been mediocre at best. That needs a solution.
Male characters sounds good on paper, but the reality is that the CN players don't want it. If Mihoyo tried introducing playable male characters anyway, they would just lose what player-base they have right now. It's not worth the risk.
The problem isn't with the voice acting but the game structure. It has too many visual novel for a combat game, and too many combat for a visual novel. For someone who enjoys combat and minimal dialogue it is an issue with all hoyo games, even if the have a good core story, their forced endless uninteresting dialogue ruins it. It is as if the writers are paid by number of words written. Hi3rd also have one of the worst ui and progression system, on top of insane powercreep.
Dont expect male characters, because of cn turbo simp virgins, who would stab someone over a bunny suit
The main menu feels sluggish and could get a visual and mechanical overhaul imo. Im not a hardcore player btw. Also add a roadmap feature that will add daily missions bases on your low/medium/high activity. Basically it suggests things to do and provides a convenient overview of the amount of things to collect per patch.
ОтветитьDisagree about the 3rd one, it would compromise the product for existing players in favour of attracting new players. But its too late for many of these solutions to have any significant effect on the game anyway, part 2 was a failure and lost them both players and revenue and theyre already pivoting back to focusing on what the old playerbase wants to see, aka the old cast. I dont think we should worry about the games popularity, its not our problem as players and i dont see the upside of compromising the original games focus (all female cast) in favour of popularity as a consumer. I rather the game end than become something bastardized, but of course it wont end since even houkai gakuen 2 is still running, lets continue to enjoy the game we started playing and stop trying to alienate the current playerbase xD
ОтветитьThis game is hell if you are a F2P player. Story, at the other hand, is very amazing
ОтветитьI tried to play it once, but it was way too overwhelming. There was no introduction just LORE LORE LORE FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT
I couldn't do it
It’s my favorite game lmao
ОтветитьI think because it's just an waifu game, those type of games are not as popular in the West.
ОтветитьI think that if the game instead of being dubbed for a language that is already supported, they could have the same money. translating the game into 5 or 6 different languages, which would expand the public area by some barriers and not itself focusing on the same areas
ОтветитьAlso adding the HI3rd story just got way to messy for me some established information form the part 1 of the story just went out of the drain with Otto's information about the different timelines(branches), KEVIN's discovery that earth was the last stop for the coccoon in the cosmos based on the dreams and memories he experienced after stealing the authority of finality fron the coccoon, and the SUGARS pre-established info about them leaving HI3rd branch and connecting to another one cause literally last time we saw their divine key along with bubble universe that durandal had is now outside the HI3rd branch re established a different connection from the tree to escape the Honkai. Which is a big problem that needs more explanation cause to be honest APHO 2 is the literal current story line that not have been bought back for i dont know 2 or 3 years has passed since its release
And some of the lorebombs about unexpected characters showing up in the events in that 8 year time skip was never even mentioned in APHO story event whatsoever i just got confusing now.
Cause to me really im still confused cause things dont add yet to what we were told in the part 1 of the story and the information thay was established there till after 1.5 story and part 2 of the story just got messier cause i thought we were facing SA and its different roots scattered in the SoQ and all of a sudden sparkle showed up aughhh hello i thought we were on a epic showdown up against a dangerous entity the way the timing was out of nowhere felt like filler episode was about to happen which had nothing to do with the current story just for the collab cause really more like a troll to hype up and bring more players in the community
Just like how i said before back when the flamechasers were released it was really a waste opportunity to get more players for the game and not only adding insult to the injury they even disrespected our KALPASS game boss model, adding more the way they allowed they playerbase to play KEVIN with somewhat bland skillsets this made me hate the developers for not putting the right foot down against those TOXIC players cause i really meant it no holding bars here hahahahahahah
Im just glad that they develop HSR and allowed Welt to just jumped out of that universe into this one much more friendlier atmosphere with some issues here and there about metawise but i can tolerate that and cause to me for real HI3rd story ended for me was when Fu HUA reuniting with GRISEO and SU for once we were shown a really good heartfelt happy ending for once, and that was enough for me like literally.
No normies bandwagon lmao. Anime wasnt "cool" that time.
Ответитьtheir main target audience is otakus, who are already more familiar with JP and CN voices. This is also why the game doesn't have any male characters despite Hoyo's efforts to introduce them (believe me, HI3 already has more male characters than GGZ). The CN community has the say and it's always been. Rather than introducing EN voices which will take time and resources, implementing backup lore, context and the common knowledge every character was talking about while the player has no clue into the game itself would benefit not just new players but also oldbies
ОтветитьI totally agree with everything you said. Took the words right outta my mouth
ОтветитьBased
ОтветитьAs much as I wish Hi3 would get the love from the other communties, I really don't want the bad side of the other communities ruining ours, as on a multitude of times. (Globally, Hi3 CN community can be weird asf for no reason.)
ОтветитьAfter watching the entire vid. I can say the same usual small section of the already small community by server asking for something that would anger the majority because "why dont you guys include us too"
Ответитьnah im greatly disagrees with the first problem
en voice got too much dramas
I do like the points you made this video, and I do agree more to some comments like gatekeeping an EN VA to you know, reduce drama and potential issues. The second issue isn't so bad if we are behind CN by just a version as it mostly just affects the veterans when they get spoiled on what happens. The third take uh, we don't wanna keep talking about that.
Me Personally I think the issues i see are:
1. Lets get this out of the way, the game is too old. The UI is still complicated if you just start, The first 4 chapters lead to nowhere and every cutscene or frame is in 144p. If you take into consideration how gamers of today hate when something isn't HD.
2. Some of the comments already addressed (@nicholasmogiba6361) it, the lore is divided into the manga and light-novels. If you really look at the game as a new player, you really wouldn't go deep into the lore as you aren't interested in it yet, unfortunately you have to find bits and pieces that connect what you see on your screen somewhere outside the game (the mangas) just to understand the scene or moment, for example. Ya'll know the scene in Rubia where a random Girl died and Fu Hua reached her arms? That was Cheng Lixue, an acting commander for Valkyrja and Fu Huas close apprentice, you wouldn't know that unless you read the manga.
3. Tying back to point 1 of the game being too old, the place where you go to and or fight using the valkyries are so barebones, like a gmod map made with props.
4. Make Open World something you can do without being told to do it in your face (Open World reminders are slightly annoying and you HAVE to play them for some rewards)
5. Speaking of Open World, maybe don't let APHO be playable if you haven't finished Part 1? As a new player, the moment you accidentally or curiously pressed play your in a world of confused.
6. Less Emphasis on Gacha for Part 1, We use story picked characters for 95% of our entire Part 1 playthrough therefore theres no need to even touch the Gacha until deeper in the story.
7. Make events actually fun, Might just be a me issue but most events are just not fun at all, maybe except for the events like Fall Guys lol
The Only Fixes I can think of
1. The only way I can think of the game being as great as its prime again is a complete remaster, same story, modern looks and changes and overhaul of some mechanics.
But what do I care? At the end of the day, I love the game with all my heart and its fine if the game is like this, not like we can do anything about it anyway. Stay strong kings and queens, we shouldn't forget that we are to protect all that is beautiful in the world.
To be honest I don't really consider the 3rd problem as a great reason why people don't play the game. Surely there are people who don't want to play it for that reason but I would say that's a minority.
In my opinion, another reason is because of its story. Everybody in this game knows that the story is absolutely peak, but people, especially from other games, hate hearing comparisons, this has happened much frequently thanks to HSR. For example when Acheron came out, people started saying things like "Oh, It's literally Mei, where's Kiana?" Or when Raiden Shogun came out many people were saying something like "She's literally just a copy of Mei", some people might want to know more about both of them and maybe learn about the inspiration behind their character, but instead get an explanation on how their favourite character is just a copy and how its bad because is not like the original (Ejem, Raiden Shogun). And let's be honest, another reason is that at some point both the game and their players started to be pretentious with the story and trying to give too much meaning on every fcking word (Yes, I'm talking to you, part 2), the complexity of its story might also be another reason why some players don't want to play it, after all I don't think everyone wants to hear an explanation of quantum physics given by Nagamitsu and Tesla about how Herrscher cores works.
I just saw a reel about songquw and the entire comment section just called her "lumine"
Dude thats pissed me off so bad, theyre playing so many gacha games like hsr wuwa and zzz EXCEPT hi3
Genshin and Star Rail are very famous in Brazil but...Honkai Impact dont have Braziliam Portuguese translation like the other games
ОтветитьSorry for the long comment.
Looking at the issue of not having playable male characters might seem simple at first, but the problem lies a bit deeper. The devs already entertained the idea of adding male playable characters into the game (Adam from APHO, Lyle doesn't really count, he's only an off-field support). They released a survey some time ago, asking the playerbase if they would accept such development. While the global servers were more on the 50/50 side (more votes for having male characters), the chinese playerbase results were mostly against it. Some chinese players protested loudly online. HoYoverse, being a chinese company, listened to the CN playerbase.
There are more reasons for it, like: they were reported to the CCP for fradulent actions (a player felt scammed after paying for an outfit for his favorite character, because soon after, they released a free skin for the same character. Later on they had to join the CCP to keep their company from being disbanded by the government, that's why they had to censor a lot of stuff in the game), there was an assasination attempt on the CEO (HoYo decided to do something special for their global playerbase, a collab between them and Myth & Roid. A music video where the characters were dressed in bunny suits. The main complaint was that Fu Hua, the character representing China, was dressed in such an outfit, which was seen as a sign of someone being a wh**e. The video was taken down and fan reuploads are to this day meeting the same end. There was also an exclusive bunny suit stigma, gained from an event and they replaced the original image with one that resembles a magician, rather than a girl in a bunny suit), an argument that "only girls can be valkyries" is used as well (while the statement is true, a small change of advertising would have done the trick, but alas...).
To protect themselves from further backlash, they decided against putting male playable characters in the game. So, we will most likely never see them being released.
Honestly I don’t mind hi3 not being as big as Genshin or hsr because less tourists are around and gatekeeping becomes easier given that we already need to watch out for CN adding even more shit to the pot could prove detrimental
ОтветитьHoyo: talks about adding male characters
Dawei: "sweats as he looks over his shoulder
CN fandom (at least the controversial side): Here's Johnny
To me I love reading subtitle rather hearing english dub in HI3rd. The reason is simple to me and it was just because I don't want english dubbing influence the writing of Subtitle.
If you play ZZZ you will notice the writing conversation in ZZZ, it feel like I watching anime that always direct to the point, conversation is short, no detail memorial context, nothing to take note for future development and so on....
