Using Scaler 2 iPad With Beatmaker 3 Workflow Guide!!

I have a problem with this app. I have a newly updated 2020 12.9 IPad Pro and I am running this program through BM3. I am pretty much following your instructions in this video step by step. Scaler 2 will allow me to record the notes but when I try to add claps, hihats & etc to make an actual beat the audio stopped working. BM3 still plays the audio from the other sounds that I programmed into it, and for the life of me I just can’t figure why, I tried changing the piano sounds. At first I used the Kong Module Pro VST, then I switched to a less intensive piano VST Pure Piano; same results, then I switched to Ravenscroft 235, all same results. I even closed all of my apps running in the background, rebooted my iPad I even tried with and without headphones. Can somebody please help me out with this and explain to me what I am doing wrong!?? oh and FYI I am using the paid version of Scaler 2 not the demo.

So if I do everything in scaler 2 and get the midi recorded on track B, then can’t I just open my auv3 on that track and not worry about dragging the pattern to track A? 🤔.

Scaler often don’t play any sound after recording or maybe start playing randomly 😳

something is not working for me. Scaler 2 will let me play the keys but when I try to use atom piano roll 2 i can’t get it to play back. Or even if I don’t use atom piano roll 2 and save my project and come back to it late I can’t get any audio to play. I am using the paid version of Scaler 2

I play windsynth and tried using it to trigger chords in Scaler2. Unfortunately it can not pass through CC#2 and #11. Chordjam passes through everything but doesn’t have the beef of what Scaler2 has. I have written to the developers. Maybe they will add this capability.

Yeah that export import stuff is nuts in BM3. I still think this method is the best. @ipadbeatmaking

Personally I would leave the midi data in Atom and record to Audio. Record to an Audio track.

You can choose one note at a time and turn off velocity snap to control note velocity in atom but it’s more time consuming.. that’s my work around I found

Hey iPad, big fan 1rst time leaving a comment. GEM You can transfer patterns in beat maker 3,between midi tracks or (banks) by tapping the track helper, grabbing the pattern, drag and place it on the desired midi track and it the “pattern” will be added to “that” midi tracks (track helper).

You can also use Midi Capture if you want the chords in BM3.
