Apple Watch Ultra Alpine Loop vs. Ocean Band | How to Choose?

Yellow ocean band for me

I just use my other bands from previous watches. Solo loops and braided loop bands are perfect for the Ultra. I use the leather link band for everyday use and have the ocean band for scuba diving and surfing. I seriously thought I would return the Ultra 2 but it fits better than my normal 45mm. I have 3 watches and I swap my watches more often than I swap bands.

Thanks for the detailed comparison. I have a question in terms of maintenance, now that you have used the white color ocean band, is it easy to clean if it gets dirty or get stains on it? Or the blue color band is going to be better for outdoor activities?

My only concern is if the Ocean Band doesn't allow your skin to breathe.

Does anybody have any feedback regarding that?

I occasionally use the Alpine Loop that came with my Apple Watch Ultra. More often, I use aftermarket Ocean Bands I picked up from Amazon. I have five of them that were far less expensive than one genuine Apple product. I feel like Apple’s straps are a ripoff.

I was cooking a meal, and tidying up after and did not realise how much I splashed/wet my Apple Watch 7 band. I will definitely go for the rugged and practical look of the ocean band.

Looks great. Did you used the water lock feature (to remove the water from speaker) after swim in the ocean, pool, or after every shower?

I was super skeptical about the ocean band too, but it turns out I love it.

I love my Ultra with the yellow ocean band (which actually reminds me a little to those ‘livestrong’ bracelets by nike from the 00’s), I had a S4 with the solo loop before and I hated taking a shower with it, just like you said, stayed wet for a while and felt kinda gross

I hate it alpine! Can’t wear it when you work out and sweat or swim or if it’s raining, it absorbs sweat and stinks after a sweat, but If you don’t work out and are lazy than yeah go for alpine

Does the White ocean band stay clean? Have you noticed any scuffing, staining or discoloration?

Good video. Wish there was a non sport band like the Nike plastic band with the holes for the regular Apple Watch for when you just want to wear it with a simple watch and don't need the sport straps to prevent it from falling off.

Nice comparison! I have both and they have their own good characteristics. I have a yellow Ocean Band and a classic orange Alpine Loop.
