I’m a Hiker that don't trust EMERGENCY alerts. It almost got me KILLED.

I love these types of stories, people huddled together in a house or a room trying to hide from the creatures outside that tries to lure them out.

I enjoyed the storytelling but the story didn’t make any sense. Authorities knew about the creatures, knew when they’d be out, and yet this kid’s dad is perfectly OK taking two kids into that environment? If the creatures could only hunt by hearing, why did you have to look at the floor? How could looking at the ceiling do anything anyway, if the creatures were outside? How does a creature with no eyesight know where the door to a cabin is? Why not just smash in a window?

The story seems to have been written by someone very young who wasn’t smart enough to think any of this through. I was hoping for better.
