Vanguard doesn't offer a cash management feature with their account (a debit card, etc.). If that's important, there's Schwab, Fidelity and some others.

Is it okay to open multiple accounts with different firms? Are there any cons to that? Tax wise?

I’m 63 and our generation was lacking in parental advice when it came to investing information! It was just starting to heat up when we got out of College for the more general population! So was a paralegal, married, we’ve raised 4 kids and now we are looking to learn about and make investments! Funny thing is, I’m the designee and I always hated math but love a good mystery.
Until I found y’all, I was pulling my hair out trying to understand not just investing, but, how to set up a brokerage account, how they work and who would be the best to do that with! Y’all are the first video I’ve found, that straightforward answered my questions! Others are all in about telling you about investments and how to puck them, etc, but they skip the part and the Tool you need to invest in the first place!
Your rating of the Brokerage Firms/choices, and the use of the four things you need to look at, allowed me to decide! I had started filling out the forms online to open an account, but I’d stop about mid way. It is overwhelming when people want to know so much about you personally! I expected some questions on that line but not all the ones this Firm asked! It can be overwhelming, especially if your on the more private side with your information! Now, I will continue filling the process and feel more confident that I made the right choice for me! I will be opening a Schwab Account! For me, you for things to look for made it seem easier to pick! I want to know the platform is easy to use, I loved when you used the word “intuitive”! If your new to something, you want to know where everything is! You don’t want to be worried when you have questions or research and you can’t find it or know where to look!

Wish that I've known about this within my late teens and early twenties.

I have an account with MerrillEdge. They have a great platform, and they offer $600 if you transfer a certain amount of money, which was good. However, they don't allow for fractional shares to be bought, but they have a really good mobile app. Also, their customer service is really good, but I notice they have some pretty thirsty financial advisors looking for clients.
