I’m still a beginner and I’m looking for a new machine to start off with since my other 4 machines that came with a tattoo kit don’t work anymore . I’m considering the Monami frost machine and would like your opinion on that, also online it states that the frost machine is for color packing / shading but you said it’s good for lining & i think i should focus more on line work right now since I’m still beginning & want to improve in getting straight lines . How in the world did you get those words to stay on the inside of your fingers lol I have clutch and brake on the side of either pointer finger and the ink mostly fell out of the bottom half of both of them. I redid them several times lol

But I have one question. do u have an idea which rotary is the best for lettering? I work with cheyenne hawk, stigma bizarre v2 and stigma spear pen..but i search for a really nice liner, making solid lines with RL9 + . Cheyenne ist direct drive, but only works with cardridges, spear has a lot of power, but worls with cardridges. I like the stigma v2 but, it inly works with 4w motor.
the sindwinder looks great, but is too expensive at the moment and hard to get XD

I bought a pen tattoo been tattooing for 35 plus years said I’d never use a rotary then they come out with these pens it a cheap one well 400 it a fyt I was wondering what’s a good volt for out Line and for shading I trued them and both people said the hurt and I’m light handed with a coil machine if anybody knows could you please let me know thank you

Hey Would you prefer this? over the thunder or spirit Cheyenne machine for all around tattooing?

If you get a DD and it's set to 3.5mm which they say is best for color packing and shading. Could you still you it to line and be able to get thin or thick lines instead of buying one with a cam at 3.0mm? Love your videos by the way it's been a great help.

I can see you use those machines with cartridge systems. What about normal needles? I recently bought a DD machine and noticed that due to the circular movement of the needle , it hits the tube and there is one constant buzzing. That never happens with a cartridges, but I haven't tried them. Do you have any tips on what to do apart from moving to cartridges :)

Hey Anrijs thanks for all the helpful videos! I'm currently apprenticing and will be buying my first tattoo machine soon. My boss uses the Cheyenne pen and because we're a disposable shop he's recommended I get the same. A lot of people seem to think you should always learn with Coil machines though and I am interested in what your opinion is on that. Cheers! :)

I'm watching your videos and they are great! Really helpful and I appreciate it!

You say they are for pretty much everything and even beginners can use them. I've seen many people use lots of different coil machines for lining. They seem to use a different machine for different needle groupings, different stroke lengths and speeds. It all goes in the trash bin when you bring one rotary out. Rotaries and especially DD-s have no give and you can really change the speed only.
Why is all that confusion about strokes, speeds , soft or hard hit and stuff when rotaries don't have any give and they hit hard? Can you really use only rotaries (and maybe one coil for shading) and what for you is the main difference between the two? Do you think rotaries are the future ?
I know you are really busy and don't have much time, but I will be very happy for an answer! Thanks!

for the Phantom when you want eally black solid one pass lines what volts do you go for? and yes the Phantom i got is awesome and super strong and handles the lower volts for nice pepper shading really really well =).
