Great video, helpful,thank you.
ОтветитьThank you George, I'm old school so I took Notes!
Ответитьno fair ill do it soon
ОтветитьThanks George for the info. How do you level a mostly dirt lawn after you replaced the main water line? Where do you start? It looks like an earthquake happened on my front lawn 😢.
ОтветитьI have some dips in my back lawn maybe from water running, can I use the 50/50 method to fill those its maybe 2- 2.5 in deep
ОтветитьGood Video, my centapede lawn is just starting to grow is this a good or bad time to level my lawn. I only have about a 6 foot square area. Thanks, Chocobill
ОтветитьGoing back into the archives for your vids George! Planning to level this summer, thanks for your tips.
ОтветитьHere’s a question. If I hurried sand some sand. Would it stay well intact? Letting it absorb some moisture. Discouraging leakage from rain.
ОтветитьHey George loved your video on the 7 mistakes. I am installing tall Fescue sod I am covering 1,600 sq. ft. I am planning on tilling and removing about 4 inches because 90% on my yard is clay. I am going to use your 50/50 advise for the sub-soil prep. Do you think this is a good plan? Thanks, Jake.
ОтветитьThanks. I made several of these mistakes. I know to avoid them next time (this Spring).
ОтветитьDo you know the insane combination of life, things and lack of talents or interest? You need to have to end up worrying about leveling your lawn while living in. What's essentially a predetermined HOA neighborhood?! I mean you've got a pretty much be born on third base while at the same time having zero friends and simultaneously no talents or hobbies in order for you to walk out and decide that your lawn that looks pretty damn flat is not flat enough and needs to be leveled and then to buy all this equipment to do it and then make a video to show other people. I'm nearly 50 years old and I've never thought about my lawn for more than the few seconds. I thought shit I've got to mow my lawn today
ОтветитьGreat video and tips. Many thanks!
ОтветитьYou've got a great energy, buddy! Nice to watch your videos . Very informative and enjoyable. 👍
ОтветитьLoved your video! Subscribing for sure
ОтветитьYour videos are great and Ez to understand How you talk to the camera is like Im talking to my bros. Just makes sense.
ОтветитьThanks for the great info. Leveling my yard for the first time this season and I'm trying to do it right the first time.
ОтветитьWoh, wondered what is this leveling my lawn?
Read it in your description. Maybe start off video explaining it first.
I have deep ruts in my lawn so unfortunately don’t have the luxury of doing a half inch at a time. Also have two acres to do so I’ll need to pick and choose which patches I want to fill in for cost savings. It’s unfortunate
ОтветитьThank you for this video. I look forward to getting started.
ОтветитьNice work George!
Ответитьif you loose some weight maybe the ground wont give in to your hefty build, dont walk on it or it will never be level..
ОтветитьDo you recommend rolling the grass first. My lawn is bumpy due to miles.
ОтветитьAre you wearing a Cubs jersey?
ОтветитьGreat video! Now do a version for a 1/2 acre of 3-1/2" tall lawn.
ОтветитьThank you for sharing this fella, very useful ❤
ОтветитьGreat stuff. Please keep in mind that soil is not organic matter. It should contain some but it is mostly mineral particles (sand, silt, and clay).
Your point remains valid: the organic matter in soil is always breaking down. This, filling your lawn's low spots with anything containing organic matter will slowly go down.
Want to know how bumpy your lawn is? Start in one corner...and walk backwards over it. To walk backwards forces your body to sense the dips, where walking forward deceives your body into thinking it's smoother than it is. Try it, you'll see
ОтветитьGreat video! Where did you get that screen sifter?
ОтветитьCan I start sand leveling on newly installed sod? It's about 3 months old.
ОтветитьCan you use sand to level a clay soil lawn? I've heard in the past not to use sand on clay.
ОтветитьPotting mix is 95% peat most. MUCH cheaper to buy just peat moss. You don't need the perlite that's in potting mix for lawns lol
ОтветитьI cannot say enough just how much how I appreciate this video! I have been trying for days to find one that tells me what I need to know without all the "blah blah blah!" I hate the way many do theirs with repetitions and BS. Like, please just get to the point! I do have ADHD but I also have zero desire to hear nonsense when I have a million other things to do. You are perfect at this!! Thank you!!!
ОтветитьThanks man, good content. To the point. Has helped out a lot.
ОтветитьBefore I start leveling, do I need to get rid of my weeds and such first?
ОтветитьI laid sod down 3 years ago to replace my mixed grass. It looked awesome for year one, then year two had some slow-grow spots and now in year three, I am seeing the root from my front tree popping up through the grass. Now this tree is 50 years old, so I doubt this just happened because before the new sod we seen the root coming up. Could the ground be settling and if so, how can I fix it? Do I level the ground about 2-3 inches? Thoughts? Thank you.
ОтветитьThank you!
ОтветитьFifth season? I just want to stop breaking my ankle or hurting my back when I mow my lawn this sounds like a long term commitment.
ОтветитьThis is the first video of yours I've watched. Absolutely brilliant video! New subscriber, looking forward to watching more!
ОтветитьI just bombed my lawn with all purpose sand (before I saw this video..) and am really regretting these pebbles. Any recommendations or am I screwed?
ОтветитьWhere to purchase mason sand and the dirt you are referring to
ОтветитьLiterally I failed on point 1.
ОтветитьSomething else you can use I noticed you didn't mention that saved me a ton of time is rolling compost/peat moss spreader it's a roller drum with a handlebar thats basically just a squirrel cage barrel that you can fill up with your compost and/or sand and you can either push it around by hand or you can pull it around with a mower or ATV you can also rent them from Home Depot. A job would normally take two or three days you can do in a single day maybe even a couple of hours because it will only let material out in the low spots as long you don't go real fast.
ОтветитьDoes the lawnmower not blow all the dirt and sand away the first time you cut the lawn after spreading leveling mix?
ОтветитьI love those Hardy gloves! They protect your hands as well as the fancy expensive brands, you can actually feel what you're doing, and you don't feel terrible if they get torn up because they didn't cost a fortune.
ОтветитьGreat work man, nice presentation
ОтветитьThanks George, your lawn videos are always informative and encouraging.
ОтветитьHere i Australia I have the opposite problem. My yard is growing on a sand base. Sand is the last thing I want.
ОтветитьThe guy is instantly likable and not pretentious. I really enjoyed his tips and look forward to doing this to my yard.
ОтветитьVery informative video and well presented. Looking forward to more tips and advice I can use on my own lawn.
ОтветитьHello. I want to get an 18x48 above ground pool for my kids but I don’t want to dig up my yard. Can you tell me what’s the best way to level my yard and what type of sand to use? Also will I just be able to use just the sand and a lawn leveling rake? Is it really that easy😬
