I go into the kitchen,
but oh, there were no grinds,
So I get on my coat, and head outside, with black coffee on my mind

So I see a little lady by the side of the road, ask her why she's all alone,
She said "I'm lookin' for some coffee mista, something strong and something bold,"
So I asked her to come with me for a ride, with black coffee on my mind

So we headed down,
To the local store,
Where the coffee's been there,
A thousand times before

I've had some bad luck thus far, but at least I got this, got this pretty girl by my side

So we were walkin' through that aisle now,
No coffee to be found,
We turn our heads, and guess what we see?
An old lady walkin' with the last pound,

So I mustered up that courage,

So I took her out, to a cafe or two,
