Just get a good amp for like 70 bucks, and a guitar with good pickups.

I’ve been playing guitar since 1974. I am often wondered about this cause I totally agree with you. I play rock on an acoustic guitar and it sounds good. I have two electrics ones a Strat and the other is a Graach a Gretsch. I think the Grinch is pretty cool for playing Fingerstyle, like Chad Atkins did . But you can play almost anything you want on any guitar, so like you say you got the sound right and I know Tatian Rite go for it will work every time. Thanks for the video. I totally agree with you.👍🏼👍🏼❤️❤️☮️🎸🎸😀☮️

I've seen a fair share of country on an SG. I've also seen plenty of metal on Strats, although I do admit it's mostly HSS Strats.

Shred on a Tele and get that country twang from a Jackson that's what we really want to see!

You can play ANY genre on ANY guitar.
A good guitar can play anything.
Sure some guitars are made toward a certain genre - but that doesn't matter.
Ive seen strats and tele's play metal and they sound amazing.

In my opinion, there should only be pickup recommendations for different genres. Nothing more.
You can play any music on any guitar.
By the way, I love my telecaster for alternative rock and my semi-hollowbody for heavy psychedelic and stoner doom.

The metal example made me sad. The country was an easy one, but playing metal with a single coil was not the answer.

Agree! I played for a band that covered jazz standards, classic rock and pop as well as indie songs. I have a 335, Strat and Tele. Depending on mood or which one has fresh strings was the one I took to a gig. All are great for any genre. Dial in tone and the fingers do the rest.

Question Do you own a steel guitar?
I think that this type is very inspiring and if you get a chance to play one then take full advantage and be prepared to be blown away by the resonances

Great video I definitely agree with your thoughts.

I also think that if any new guitarist should look at a guitar that has 2 single and 1 humbucker just like a Yamaha Pacifica range great value and all rounder I think without breaking the bank.

I love playing Metallica through my electro acoustic with slight distortion sounds amazing.
I recently busked and I love confusing the people walking past when I play something classical then switch to Metallica mode of master of puppets due to that TV show last year.
Great video and totally spot on 👍

You do realize that Dave Murray of Iron Maiden primarily plays a strat, right? Using a strat for metal is a no-brainer. I would've like to hear metal on a hollow body

Not saying that you can’t use a a strat for rock/metal but 21 frets isn’t good for solos
