A tolerance of 0.10 is equal to an r-squared of 0.9, right? Ok, but most empirical statisticians consider a correlation coefficient of 0.7 to be a useful rule of thumb for detecting MC. Which is an r-squared in a 2 explanatory variable model of 0.49. One of these rules is flawed and logic pretty clearly dictates which it is.
