I have a few dwarf citrus trees planted in half wine barrels with casters on the bottom so I can wheel them in and out of the garage if its going to freeze. I also learned that keeping them out of that hot afternoon sun as you mentioned, keeps the blossoms going longer. Thanks for all the great info!
ОтветитьPretty good video. Thanks.
ОтветитьUr plant is grafted otherwise it wouldn't be producing fruit until its 10-15 years old. Ur citrus is a dwarf because of this.
ОтветитьYour fantastic ❤
ОтветитьEverything you plant look beautiful . I plant one tomato plant here in Arizona and it dies . Matter affect. Most of my plants died . It’s been way over 110 or so for many many days . My lemon tree leaves are turning yellow and brown what can I do
ОтветитьYou keep talking and show nothing. Must improve presentation skills
ОтветитьHow old is the plant. Please. I am new to citrus plants . I got my plant grafted navel orange it says 5” I don’t know if it the size for that so and so . Need some help . It says it’s 1-2 year old and will bloom next summer .
ОтветитьI have a satsuma in a big pot and my water meter probe always says half moist soil. Should I be watering more so the meter reads full moist ? I'm in northTexas and it gets VERY hot in summer. The tree is looking kinda sickly. Thanks
ОтветитьCan someone tell me how old a lemon tree has to be before it grows fruit?
ОтветитьWhere is the best place to get lemon seeds? Are the grocery store Meyer lemons good or should I order lemon seeds?
ОтветитьThis video is 4 yrs. old. I planted 2 different citrus trees in the same pot together by mistake. They have grown with the orange tree growing taller than the lemon tree. I recently notice some new leaves in both with browning tips and some ( few) leaves that have fallen off. I inspected for bugs very closely and found none. The soil is for fruit trees as well as the fertilizer. I'v had them outdoors on the south side since late march here in georgia where it was getting lots of direct sun. Since the sun has shifted from where the 2 trees were, i moved them to the back of the house where the trees get direct sun all day, Because of some very heavy recent rain we had, it got LOTS of rain and I realized that was not good for it. Its in well draining soil but i got too much rain. So I moved it back to the front of the house where its in indirect light with NO direct sun to let it dry out some. Im concerned about the leaves as the rest of the trees seem to be o.k. Should i remove the lemon one and pot it alone ? it should be tall as the orange tree. Maybe its too crowded in the pot tey are in right now. I planted these two trees together almost 2 yrs. ago. Any advice from anyone out there would be great. These two trees are from the seeds are from store bought fruit. I will have to bring them indoors come autumn so I nedd to nip any potential problem that might arise sooner than later. I don't want to lose this plant.
ОтветитьI'm never sure about how much to bump up a plant when transplanting from nursery pot to permanent home. I wish that would have been covered.
ОтветитьI have a lime tree in a pot and it’s growing ,but I noticed that leaves became twisted ? And when I can trim branches? Thanks 🙏
ОтветитьThere are so many species of lemon in the world. May I know which species is the best to plant if we can only choose one plant due to space constraint ? Looking for lemon with strong fragrance , seedless, juicy, thin skin, always blooming in Malaysia weather.
ОтветитьFirst, thank you for your videos. You pack so much great information into them! How do you feel about grow bags for a Meyer lemon tree?
Ответитьgreat information thank you
Ответить1st time potio tree grower. Thanks for the info
Ответитьis it ok if I make the fertilizer?? I’m new to gardening and i dunno what brand I should use
Ответить🍋💛🍋💛
Ответить… even in Texas with our mild winters we can get a killer freeze … a simple hack to protect your outdoor tree is to string the tree with tiny Christmas lights and put a protective cover to keep the heat in …
ОтветитьVery well presented
ОтветитьYou keep talking about here but I'm not sure where you are. I also have hot dry heat in the summer so that would be nice to know. Thank you
ОтветитьLaura, my daughter thought she was helping me out one year and put a systemic product on my potted lime tree (it had some scale). Of course, it worked great, but we've thrown the limes away for two years now, hardly wanting to ingest possible ingredients. Can we ever eat the limes again, or is it a loss? The tree itself looks great and looks like it will be producing this year again. Thanks for all your awesome videos. If you can't answer, I understand. You're ONE BUSY GAL!!!
ОтветитьI want to plant my own lemon plant but I thought they were a plant not a tree?
ОтветитьIs this potting mix going to be ok for my citrus orange tree and fertilizer
ОтветитьI bought miracle grow citrus and cactus soil. Do I mix it with regular soil? First timer just got my Meyer tree today! Also, where do you get a pink lemonade tree?
Ответить💜💜
ОтветитьI live in PA and I always wanted to grow a citrus tree, but it is way too cold in the winter/fall. I was watching other videos but they always were too specific saying you need a very specific type of soil that cost so much. This video taught me a lot and was very enjoyable. It is spring here and I would like to get my own citrus. Could you possibly tell me where you bought the pot and plant? It would help so much. THANK YOU for this awesome video.☺
ОтветитьI used Neem oil in a spray bottle for leaves, and I make my own Colloidal Silver Water for pennies on a dollar. I spray some of both a couple of times per month. This keeps fungus , mold and Nematodes at bay. Insects or worms leaf miner are killed with the Neem oil spray.
It's a great preventative , instead of waiting until you see something , THEN trying to get rid of the pesty bug or mold or fungus.
I planted my own grapefruits from seeds. They are still small (one has 5-6 leaves, other one had two stems which each has 2 leaves). Once they sprouted they grew quite quickly but has slowed down a lot. I’m guessing they grew roots but I can see some small leaves being developed again. Really curious how they will be in some years.
ОтветитьHi when can I transplant it? Mine has no leaves
ОтветитьI have a lemon tree a friend of mine started from a seed (I’m assuming from the grocery store) and it was about 3 inches tall when he gave it to me 9 years ago (I was not a plant person) but some how I managed to keep alive all this time. But I have not taken good care of it and I want to change that. It has never had fruit, I move it outside in the spring and back inside around September I am in 7a for the past 7 years it’s been in a 14” diameter plastic pot I think with regular miracle grow potting mix never fertilized and water was very inconsistent. It’s about 4 feet tall. From your video seems like I need to repot it into a larger pot add Citrus fertilizer and water more frequent(I will have to do test to figure out what that frequency is) also indoors it sits in front of a 8 foot south facing window. If anyone reads my comment and I forgot anything pls let me know
ОтветитьThank you I have wanted to do a lemon tree for quite awhile so this is the year.
ОтветитьWOW. What a great video. You have covered all there is to growing citrus trees in containers. I'm so happy I found your channel. Now I am a Subscriber.
ОтветитьI plan to keep my newly purchased Improved Meyer Lemon tree in a container for the first few years, then put it in the ground after that.
ОтветитьHi Laura, I have a Calamondin citrus plant indoor since I live in Ottawa, Ontario. I take it out in summer time. I was trying to buy the Citrus tone from Amazon and EBay but then they don’t ship to Canada. Can you please suggest another type of fertilizer. Right now it’s bearing fruits but I find that they’re not as big as it supposed to be without the fertilizer.
ОтветитьCan you suggest the best place to purchase citrus trees?
ОтветитьThat was amazingly helpful for me thank you ever so much. I'm in Canada and I'm really appreciating all of your canter. I think you're wonderful.
ОтветитьHi,
I just received a mandarin tree as a present from my friends. The winters here do get below 32F/0C and the people from the garden store told my friends that the tree should be kept in (which sounds logical), but in a non heated room. I put it in the hallway for now, but the light is not enough I think. Is it okay if I move it in a light corner into a room with temperatures fluctuating between 13-19C degrees, as this room is occasionally heated by a fireplace which is in the other corner of the room?
Merry Christmas to you, Aaron, Benjamin and Samantha Grace. Have a great Christmas.
ОтветитьHow many days give u food citras.tree
ОтветитьThanks, but can I plant my young lime plant one time in a big container so I don't have to report it anymore? I also live in the west indies.
ОтветитьI love your content ❤
I’m growing my own herbs this year, I’m tired of buying from the store. Do you mind sharing a good soil or soil mix for herbs? I’m buying a planter raised bed.
Thank you!
Really enjoy your videos. I live in Boise and inherited a lemon tree and it is nice getting information from someone in a very similar climate. Thanks.
ОтветитьIs this the same lemon/orange/citrus trees bearing a lot of fruits in Italy travel videos?
Ответить🎂🥛🎂🌷💜💚🇨🇦🌺🌴🌿🪴🍧🍨🌲🌵😍🎈🎈🦋🦋🦋💚💚💚💜💜💜
ОтветитьHard to grow very challenging. Bug city all bugs love them. Fruits take soon long to ripen at least 8 months don't let them dry out especially when fruiting can drop fruit . They love fertilizer yearound. . Have a ponderosa lemon like it better than Meyer grow grapefruit sized lemons real good lemon flavor meyer is a lemon orange cross variety. . Can take cuttings easy. Put out in summer for fruit to grow quicker
ОтветитьWhat an awesome and informative video thank you! Have been thinking about doing fruit trees for a while but being in NY never seemed to make much sense.. this makes it seem much more manageable !! ❤️👊👏
ОтветитьSteven is cleaning.
