MY EXACT take on the new Luigi's mansion lighting. A huge appeal of the original was that feeling of waking up from a bad dream as a kid at 2am and everyone's asleep. It's dark, and unnerving. Not scary but the right amount of creepy. The tone shift with the newer games doesn't do it for me, as pretty as 3 is. Plus, I miss the vibe of the human ghosts in the original. It was less cartoony

I got a switch last year and I’ve got to say it’s really lacking, every game is half a game that you have to pay more for the other half, the games are expensive for what you get and there is no repeatability value, honestly don’t understand why everyone loves it. Mario odyssey and breath of the wild are its biggest and best games yet they came out for the console before

I never know if these videos are made out of necessity or if you really just like sitting in front of a camera by yourself for 3.5 hours just to talk to the camera, but I'm definitely glad you do - it's great to have these in the background while at work because it's technically a podcast and I won't get in trouble!

Kirby Star Allies was the first platformer I beat with the handicap of 3 toddlers.

This video is the one to surpass 1 million views on this channel. People really like hearing Scott talk about his Switch games.

I liked for the fact that Scott isn't an RPG guy, yet he's got like halve of the RPG games in his collection. At least we can agree that Dragon Quest is an cozy and fun adventure type of an RPG game.

I agree on P5 so hard. I wanted this game for such a long time - it was a perfect fit on the Switch.
After years of waiting I just caved, got P5 Vanilla for the PS3, a while later borrowed a PS4 and played Royal and now? Game is out on Steam as well, so the Switch has to compete with the Steam Deck for portability.

Legit, if they released P5 WITH the Smash DLCs, Nintendo and ATLUS could've bought another headquarter each

Scott if I’m collecting games, should I start off by collecting the games I want to play first and then once I’m done with those buy the games I just need for the collection?

I’m glad somebody else was annoyed by the story of BotW Warriors. Personally, I was fine with the time travel but I hated that it was an alternate timeline. I was hoping the final mission would be something like Halo Reach’s final mission. Like an exercise in futility. You play as Zelda and one by one, Urbosa Daruk Revali and Mipha fall, Link is mortally wounded you have to rush him to safety before facing ganon one on one. You can’t win, you just hold him off as long as you can (or something I don’t quite remember the BotW story etc so it would need to be adapted to fit, but you get the idea)

Pac Man World Repacs depth perception is abysmal

Everyone can have their own opinion but I disagree about forgotten land, the abilities have like 2 moves each and they swap out the variety of abilities for upgradable ones which is a huge downgrade imo and I ended up vastly preferring Star Allies since yeah the environments are generic but the huge ammount of abilities make it significantly more fun, what makes Kirby special is the copy abilities and if you take a lot of those away it's just a boring easy platformer, again everyone can have their own opinion

This started playing on autoplay while I was sleeping and needless to say it made for a very bizarre dream

Not to be like that, but almost all those games use flashram chips rather than actual burned roms, which have a data retention lifespan 10 years or so of unless you use them. When you put them in the system you refresh the data on them and prevent data loss (this function was confirmed in the leak). The corruption dataloss algorithm in this can help some datalosses like this, but there's a point where they'll be too corrupt for this algorithm to recover the data.

The same is true for a lot of 3DS games, use em or lose em. (same goes for game systems with flashram chips in them as well), inserting them with the system powered on for 30s to a minute is enough.
