Too japanese is probably the most stupidest reason for not releasing a video game I’ve ever heard like seriously you’re telling me that I wouldn’t understand Densetsu no Stafy because of this so-called too japanese bullshit I never even got to play these two amazing Densetsu no Stafy 3, and 4 games!!! Thanks Nintendo it’s not like I wanted to play these games in the first place anyway hmmmmpf!!!!!

I played Legend of starfy and that was only because it looked really cute and it was a rental at a video store

Amazing video. Always wanted to play legendary starfy back in the day but was always one of those games you intend on playing but never get around to.

My brother had the Legendary Starfy as a kid, I was sorting my games and I decided "let's learn about this series" and here I am

This brings a tear to my eye. I remember when I first saw the commercial, I was instantly hooked on getting the game. Once I saved up for it to purchase it, my sister and I adored the game for how unique it was from the other DS games we had. It felt like we were playing a Kirby game that was very unique.

I never knew Moe had a sad backstory like this that hurt my heart! What I wouldn't give for all the games to be localized and for more Starfy games to be made for Switch or similar!

I don't know why but I hate this way of pronouncing Starfy.

I always prefer making Starfy's "Y" make the "igh" sound in high.

What the heck? I thought starfy was cutesy and didn’t have death. But moe’s mother died from sickness, ogura’s kids died, and moe’s father passes away!

this underrated game is a masterpiece

I remember playing the 5th game alot. Middle school me found out about the first 4 games thru emulators but I didn't play them much since I can't read Japanese. Thanks to this game I knew what a Takoyaki and Gachapon were

I grew up with The Legendary Starfy on my DS as a kid and loved it to death. a few summers ago I finally picked up the rest and even though I can't read Japanese, My knowledge of the US release means I didn't really need a tutorial and after each game I filled in any blanks by reading up on the wiki story wise. They are such a joy! I even completed the 3rd game to get the good ending. I feel if they remade them as a collection OR remade the whole series in one big long game that it would sell super well if they would just market it right. I always loved the story of the starfy falling down and working his way back home while stopping literal evil. I think Nintendo could easily push the concept of going on an adventure through the sea, sky and space really easy. Also the character interactions are typically full of character and very cute

It was the localized Starfy game that introduced me to takoyakis. And it was Konfucious Eats that showed me how to properly eat them, too. Love this game so much.

Honestly, the first 4 games also need to be localized...hell maybe 1-5 would be a big Collection. Call it The Legendary Starfy Tales.

WE NEED A NEW GAME

My idea for Ogura’s kids in a translated version:
They should be called “Ogu-Lings” (referencing the Koopalings).

I know that we probably won't see Starfy again for a long time in any meaningful way, but I would love to see Starfy be considered an actually relevant franchise. I barely ever see anyone mention the series anywhere nowadays which is really sad considering how high quality these games really are. I'd love to see Nintendo and Tose take a chance and translate/remaster/remake one or more of the Japanese games and give the series a proper second chance.

Canonically, I will always think Evil was the strongest boss in the Starfy series

Almost done with my collection of Densetsu no Stafy games I’ve bought myself Densetsu no Stafy 2 all that’s left is Densetsu no Stafy 1 yeah I’m going backwards through time!
