Kinda late to the party, but what should I get: this or the crash course. I know something more than basics about some programming languages as I took them in high school, and would like to get into python. Which one should I get?

Scrolled Al Sweigart's Twitter feed to get a sense of who he is and he's completely nuts. Guy is off the rails.

Hey guys I'm a beginner here so I'm sorry for the noob question.
The book says to download Mu. I already have Anaconda Navigator & PyCharm.
Could I use either of these programs to follow the book instead of downloading Mu?

Greetings, so I was able to install the version of the python from the main company (python.org), my question is why some people are selling it for $500-$600 while I am able to get it for free and complete version with no expiration in the date?

The fact that you stated, "you probably don't know what you're doing, you just copied a bunch of code from somewhere and it does what you want it to do," described exactly why I was fishing for a good python book in the first place. This even contains all of the beginner material from my programing class (in the book), Thanks for the book review and how easy and straight to the point you got.

I almost bought this book today. Instead I picked up: Mission Python: Code A Space Adventure Game by Sean McManus & Python Flash Cards (Eric Matthes ; no starch press). Also have Learn Python the Hard Way 3rd Edition.

Guess I'll be going back to the book store to get this one.

IIRC, Al's web scraping was a great read! I also used PYTHON FOR KIDS by Jason R. Briggs. Not embarrassed to say I was in my mid-twenties. Ashamed to say I did once offend someone who was new to Python and requested help.

Hi. Im new to Python and have received Python Crash Course from a colleague of my dad. Im quite interested in machine learning and i know you have said in some previous comments that you think automate the boring stuff is better. Do you recommend I buy that book instead or I just start with crash course. Thanks!
