I thought you are supposed to leave the mats on until they disintegrate??
ОтветитьYes! Please show the whole process of doing the putting green ⛳️
ОтветитьBeen there. Heavy spring rains washed out half my front yard...
Ответитьlook into a grandpas weeder for that johnson grass. I have one for the monster dandelions and it works well.
ОтветитьGo IU. Class of 04
ОтветитьHave you considered doing sod? Im curious what the cost would be compared to dealing with seed waste and the amount of time it takes to get it established.
ОтветитьAcclaim does a good job at suppressing Johnson grass rhizomes for what you leave behind when pulling.
ОтветитьHave you thought about a natural look where you are putting your fruit trees? Native grasses.
ОтветитьAre those straw blankets reusable? Best place to get them?
ОтветитьGreat job- its off to a good start well ahead of the game now fall should be a cake walk
ОтветитьWould love to see the putting green process. What’s your handicap? Seems like the clay base would be good for the bunker and the green. Would you raise the green with sand or topsoil? Looking forward to the next one.
ОтветитьI did notice in that heavy rain it was pooling off your front porch. You may want to look into your drainage there and check your gutters. That kind of pooling will cause foundation issues over time.
ОтветитьHappened to me with butting in pool and reseeding. Washed away in then severe thunderstorms..😢 love your soil helper. Start them young. 😂
ОтветитьI love golf.....show it all!
Ответитьtenacity will kill johnson grass but you need multiple apps.
ОтветитьSeeding blankets ALL DAY! I used them on my Scotts Provista KBG backyard and I'll never seed without. Had plenty of washouts in previous renos but as you mentioned they do start to get pricey 💵 💵 💵
ОтветитьWe have Johnson Grass growing in a flower bed we put in and filled with some top soil. Had no idea what it was or where it came from. But, that stuff grows quick!
ОтветитьI would glyphosate that whole front and start all over in Late August.
ОтветитьDidnt fallow the new soil eh?
ОтветитьIn the middle of a renovation (without straw blankets) and I watched this last night with my 6 year old daughter, on no fewer than six occurrences today she has informed me I’m doomed. Also if you get some washouts in seeded areas and don’t want to run equipment over to fill them just roll up sod and plug the ruts.
ОтветитьHere’s an idea you can use next time get a roll of plastic and roll it out over the soil the day before it rains to prevent it washing away your Grass seed
ОтветитьGolfer here. Send that green buddy!!
ОтветитьI'd DEFINITELY watch a Build Your Own Putting Green playlist
ОтветитьFilm the entire golf green dude. Who cares if everyone or anyone else is doing it. Everyone has there own take on how to do things. I'd like to see how you do the putting green. You have a lot of work to do on that property. I can't wait to see how it comes out in the long run.
ОтветитьFiskars weed puller is awesome for clumping grasses…
ОтветитьGreat video this time!
Ответить😊 here's a suggestion for you. Instead of a putting green that everybody is putting in, put in a putting green that is really a miniature golf putting green. It might be more fun. It definitely would be more unusual. And it's something that your kids would definitely love.
ОтветитьI'd definitely want to see the whole putting green journey if you do it
ОтветитьGreat work! Its all coming together my friend i would love to see the whole process on the putting green and cant wait for your next video !
ОтветитьYour kiddo is adorable, I have a 14 month old and is as helpful as yours it looks like. Best videos in the game 👏
ОтветитьGet you a weed wick for thst Johnson grass.
ОтветитьI’m really happy to see you back on a regular basis.
ОтветитьI really think you're going to need drain tile eventually....just to get the water out of the back yard faster in down pours like you just had.......
You could use plastic sheeting to protect your seeding areas if you know you got a down pour on the way......
I have used huge rolls of plastic to germinate areas quicker, too....
Keep on with the straw, add some loose as you reuse the blankets.
We are all cheering you on!!
I appreciate the transparency of the ups and downs you go through. It makes this whole process seem relatable. I also feel more invested in the journey as a viewer because of the transparency.
For future videos, I'd love to see the process of bringing in compost and spreading it after aeration. This is something I need to start doing to amend my rocky clay soil.
I would just bite the bullet and sod it
ОтветитьWouldn’t MSMA work on the Johnson grass?
ОтветитьI’d suggest looking into renting an overseeder to get the seed down in the soil. I rented one when I renovated my lawn and it helped a lot with washout.
ОтветитьEach time I've seeded my lawn I make a mistake. Every mistake I make I learn from so each time I seed I get better and better at it. Next time you'll learn to use straw mats.
ОтветитьI sometimes walk around our neighborhood and think “wow, this house has great drainage, good for them” lol love the trials and tribulations content.
ОтветитьBruh you make good videos film it
ОтветитьI want to see you document the putting green process start to finish
ОтветитьI am trying to establish a new lawn. I have a newly built home and have just had the grading process completed. I have put down my seed over the newly graded yard and added fertilizer over the top of it. This was done two weeks ago with a lot of watering. I do have some grass coming up but it is very thin and patchy. I am wondering what mistakes I made? this is very frustrating because there are spots where I see nothing but dirt and no grass at all. What can I do?? Please help!!
ОтветитьFirst Aussie 😁. Justin,a man on a mission . 🤠
ОтветитьI feel your pain Justin. I am still going through this same thing. Very tempted to just kill everything and start over. Fighting the temptation.
ОтветитьUse a tackifier for your seed it worked for me on the hill in my backyard
ОтветитьIt's gonna be amazing! And the compost is a great idea!
ОтветитьThat was a great video. Loved it!
