Your so right about the pocket and your groove is mean.

Just two notes to make you dancing.... So great thing to develop ..and strum by strum you can get a lot of "colors" that you didn't imagine before.... Than, when you really feel confortable with the rythm and the grooove... You can experiment a third note. If it fix, it means you are on the right way!!!
