Why it’s time to drop WhatsApp and switch to Signal

You comparing Signal with the Whatsapp but one of Signal owner is also co-founder of Whatsapp ?

Signal is also extra private because you can't hack conversations that don't exist.

yes, would love an alternative to FB and/or Instagram. The amount of hacks into FB is increasing and getting ridiculous.

Signal is the gold standard for communication but the UK is gonna ban secure and private communication apps soon anyway

is it possible use both signal and whatsapp on your phone? I myself use only signal but my mother use whatsapp and the excuse is bc all her friends use it (obviously). But since i will never install whatsapp on my phone was wondering if my mom had both apps on her phone and when i call her using signal she receives the call through signal and her friends calls go through whatsapp. Is this possible or does whatsapp block signal (or vice versa)?

Whatever the alternative, they H A V E to be able to communicate with each other, nobody wants to install more than one app for the same purpose.

I wanna drop Whatsapp but.. First of all, I like the green-ness of it lol, I dont like blue apps, they dont fit on my home screen, aesthetically. Second, nobody else I talk to is using it. They wouldnt start doing it either, as, well, I personally only have 13 contacts (including my entire family and friends), but all of them have other friends and more contacts, most of them over 30/40/50, wich all only use Whatsapp, so downloading another messenger app, simply because one person in their contacts wants to drop Whatsapp, isnt what theyre gonna do.
They dont care about privacy (at least thats the feeling I'm getting), they only have the Whatsapp=standard of all standards and if you dont have this standard, youre not connected to everyone at any time-mindset.
Idk... Its frustrating in a way.
I mean, yeah man I like the way Whatsapp is running smoothly too, but like, its definitely not what it used to be, in terms of privacy, than when it first got released.

I use Signal . It's like star trek ! You can use all forms of communication all at the same time !!

Agreed... WhatsApp is behind Telegram and Signal in every possible way. No native iPad app. No native PC app. No native Linux app. The “web” version does NOT support notifications unless the browser tab is open and active. What’s the point of notifications, if you can’t use another app?
