Seems like a far jump into possibilities but sure

The venom symbiote isn't Inherently evil. It only gives more rise to the emotions the host already has and in turn corrupts the symbiote further as shown with venom in the mainline comics after being cleansed of its corruption. Peter was already always on the tight rope where he could break is moral code due to the pure hell he goes through everyday as he has held back so much anger. The symbiote only brought it out of him to feed on his adrenalin. If Peter could of controlled his anger better the symbiote would just be a literal extention of himself rather than the rage beast itself. The symbiote isn't the villa never has been. Been only as bad as the host is really.
