Yeah, it was to provide a. context for how you target spellwork, but also b. it's a thematic base as to WHY you should aim for these kinds of flexible, kind of methods. Maybe before, getting a house and stable base of operations was the way to go; he goes into why home ownership is dicey these days and how with likely upcoming economic and world political situations, you may well be better off with less tying you to one place. So a. here's the ocean you're swimming in but also b. use flexible, traditionally dirt poor methods. In this economic context, here's why spirit work and trickster gods, and precise spellwork for generating options (when economic stratification is getting worse and worse) is important.
For better or worse it makes it more an intermediate book, since it's harder to just "here walk through this set of practices". But as noted the techniques are very useful as a baseline.
A lot of what became chaos magic was basically looking at ceremonial magic on the one hand and general spellwork on the other, and going "what are the basic rituals and techniques that DO this effectively" and that's where you get Liber Null and Condensed Chaos and the whole pop culture deities fad for a while, and why a lot of basic sigil techniques are similar is it grabbed from Spare. Gordon came up with the shoaling thing a few years ago on his blog.
Lately, with White and Miller as two main examples, there's been a push back from this sorta regular practice of banishing and sigils, to an emphasis on meditation, daily basic spirit/ancestor offerings, and then a bit of divination and sigils or other spellwork in a very as needed way. Wachter is kind of... a second layer after that, having read and incorporated some of their stuff into his books while keeping a more intuitive witchy feel.

Right on time.
It is alleged that Discordianism was invented by two school friends, Greg Hill and Kerry Thornley in 1957.
Not so.
Opal S. Whiteley invented Discordianism in 1903. In fact, her pet pig, Peter Paul Rubens, was named after Peter Paul Rubens, artiste 🐦 who painted The Judgement of Paris. Sure enough, there is an Esoteric Book hidden by the Fairie Queen herself called Peter Paul Rubens and Other Friendly Folk which will teach you how to communicate with animals.

I'm very new. As a complete beginner, would you say that the Hands-On Chaos Magic book would be a good starting place because of all of the exercises? Thank you for the video.
ОтветитьGreat video.
Also, all these months later, and Gordon White seems to have been spot on with his thoughts on the vax and Rona
I think the more you understand the mundane world we live in, the better you can choose your approach for what you want to do with much more clarity and "accuracy."
ОтветитьAs a chaos death witch I do my best to educate myself and not appropriate the cultures practices. Which I also believe is an issue with chaos magic as well. My magic looks like a dance. I use sigils heavily, my spells look VERY complex. I make this look hard lol. But I enjoy playing with the energies of different items and how that effects my spell work.
ОтветитьThanks😁
ОтветитьTo me, it's like you go to get a new book, to find something different, and with me, I've bought several and it's like the same things but with a different author with witchcraft books that keep getting handed down just formatted in different ways. It would seem that there would be books out there without the same information and have more choices in magick and in the craft.
ОтветитьHi. My name is cortney and I was wondering if you would be willing to read my book and see what you think about it. Is there a way I could reach out to you to discuss this further? If you are interested. Thanks 😊 I love that you do this witchy book tube. Awesome stuff. I love what you said about pursuing what you want and being so open. Much love
ОтветитьI really like your channel name..got to know the reason here!
ОтветитьThese books have been on my shelf for years. They are excellent reference texts but very challenging to summarize and review.
ОтветитьReally like everything about this. Love the energy!
ОтветитьHi, what is the author of the purple book name mage? It keeps catching my eye but I can't find it on the internet just with the name
ОтветитьOoh interesting allusion to what will happen in the future about going down a specific path! I wonder if there will be specific paths for the book subscription. Will be interesting--I've never been bored by the books you send out and I look forward to seeing what happens next!
ОтветитьI don’t usually label my practice as it’s a combination of things, but just yesterday a friend called what I do chaos magic. I’d love to read one of these for comparison and possible resources for growth. As always, thanks for the review!
ОтветитьThank you! I received the chaos protocols in the giveaway book pile :) I haven't gotten around to reading it yet since I have so many books I still want to read, but this book was a pleasant surprise. Your review made me look forward to reading it even more. The other book you show here also sounds good, I will keep that one in mind if I want to read more about chaos magic
ОтветитьFor real, his shoaling of sigils , and his Sigil teachings in general have been a game changer for me. I love the methods he presents. Worth your time for sure.
ОтветитьI'm amazed you are able to read so many books 📚! I have to become diligent! Thank you for your insight
