It sounds like Dead Space. Man unearthed something they shouldn't have and they try to reengineer it to fit a new purpose and of course it backfires horribly.

I love that everything down to naming the main character Jacob is a love letter to Dead Space. These guys are going to have a masterpiece.

Dead Space's tension was definitely undercut by feeling overpowered toward the end. I hope Callisto Protocol reigns that in.
