FIX Missing Audio WAVEFORM in Premier Pro

So, quick update. Just looked at the analytics for this video. Over the past 4 years it's been a pretty steady 75 views/day, with no recent drop off. Meaning that after all this time, Adobe still hasn't fixed the problem. But, I've since come up with a better solution: switch to DaVinci Resolve!

Thanks, it helped me with the timeline clips I have, but If I want to preview a sound, a song in the source window I can only see the waveform if I put play on it, then the waveform generates only where the timeline is going through.

Unfortunately none of the options worked for me, but I appreciate the adobe bashing.

VERY VERY VERY BIG THANK YOU SIR!!!! I HAD IMPORTED AN AUDIO FILE SO I COULD MANUALLY SYNC IT WITH THE AUDIO RECORED IN CAMERA, BUT TO AVAIL UNTIL I SAW THIS TUTORIAL, IT WASS INDEED A QUICKK FIX, IM WRITING IN CAPS TO SAY IM OVERWHELMED!!!

Thank you so much, this "fix" worked! like you, all my other settings were correct. It seems as if some problem happened during import because only half of my clips had missing waveforms. I'm glad videos like yours exist, even for problems as rare (that are annoying when they happen) as this!

Hi, I had the same problem and I may found a solution. I simply RENAMED the video file name and dragged it into PR. The audio wave just showed up.
It might caused by how you import your files, so try importing files with Bridge might be better way.
