How is ESO Different from Other MMOs?

It's a great game for sure! Unfortunately, I didn't find any of the classes appealing. I'm always checking whether they add a new one and try it out, hoping it clicks.

Only 6 classes, the level scaling system, and the philosophy the game has where everyone is a tank everyone is a dps and everyone is a healer is so wonky to me. I can't get into it.

Its just another 5 button MMO, if only it had more depth to the combat it would be awesome.

All content your level makes it so boring, zones are supposed to be hard and dangerous, not easy mode all the time, it’s very boring game

it doesnt have a botbar like 14/aion/wow/swtor

I can tell you what makes it different the fucking game has over 2,350 quests and so much to do you will be spending 1,000's of hours on the game and still not be done o.o can't wait for new DLC i got the Deluxe Edition :) as for the other games

Guild Wars 2: was fun for a while but it gets boring doing the same dam thing over and over again
final fantasy online: tried it wasnt as fun as ESO ;p


Elder Scrolls online is always changing and when ya got Eso Plus you can have a blast! lol love the part where you said you played free and loved it so much you finally paid ....that is ESO it will suck you in

What a lot of people like about the game is just the elder scrolls universe - TES lore is SIGNIFICANTLY larger and richer than any other video-game original. WoW lore has nothing on the sheer volume of TES lore. You could literally spend an entire day just reading in-game lore books, and a lot of them are really good!

Why did you talk about the negative things? Like when fighting with group of players against group of mpc every mpc targets you and immediately kills you. Ore when they release new weapons armor and races they nerf the older stuff so you use the new thing. and the list of problems goes on.

I agree with most of the stuff. ESO is a great game, but calling the shop "cosmetic shop" is a bit of a stretch

I know o e way they are not different and thats that zenimax is more interested to take all the players money and not fix any of the problems that has existed for years and leaves the game unrewarding with any new awsome content is in the crown crates. Leavinf the game baren with quests that give you zone gear and momentos and house items people just ignore. No earable mounts outside DLC, no awsome looking unique qweapons or armour outside 1 or 2 from the base game Nd an overall lazy design philosophy for the classes and not updating the older classes or adding new skills to keep them relivent.

It's the monetization, luv.

Apart from Wow ESO is the only other mmorpg I come back to periodically and honestly wow was my childhood but ESO is way funner

I really want to love this game. The setting is immersive and engaging, the exploration is rewarding.. but the combat is so easy. It's near impossible to die against anything while exploring the vast world. I mean I can leave the keyboard and wait and it's going to take a few minutes for the mobs to kill me. Meanwhile, I kill them with a few attacks in 4 or 5 seconds. I need a minimum of challenge to stay engaged in a game.

I had to pass on this game because there is just no challenge for 99% of the content. And the 1% that is challenging is end game content that takes forever to reach. It saddens me because I feel like this game really had huge potential to be great.

I like and hate this game at the same time. I'm dying for more elder scrolls content but eso is only half of what I'm looking for lol.

i am an ESO player since the beginning, i played on it's 1st day of release, and then i did quit just before they release Morrowind, and i didn't play again until recently when they announced Necrom, so i did completed the base game progress ( VR 14 as they called it back in the days )

And the reason i quit was probably the base game didn't had much content, but after around 8 years, i finally returned due to the new Necrom news, and suddenly, i had a around 5 expansion worht of content, and it just reminds me on why ESO is just good.

I am mainly a solo player on ESO and ocasionally having fun in Cyrodiil with my fellow Dominions, and what really hooked me for the past months is just basically the lore of this MMO, it's second to none!

before you decide to play this game read their privacy statement and then decide if you can support that or like me run away.

So you don't play eso at all, there's no such set that makes your abilities deal poison damage.

ESO players are dogshite and extremely unskilled lol. The devs spend most of their efforts on the cash shop while ignoring many game breaking bugs which occur in every major patch

Been looking at this for awhile but man, the game just FEELS so bad. From movement to the stiff characters its just doesnt feel right.

no traditional tank,or other class roles, can pretty much solo everything, buggy as hell since launch, delusional devs, devs blocking players for facts in twitch stream chat, disgusting microtransactions, outside of lore pretty poor game all over.

plenty more to do after a few months? Oh boy... looks like you didn't get the news that they stopped the steady content update stream to focus on QoL during the 3rd quarter kekW

I been playing eso over 2 years know i use to play wow but wow after a while got to expensive plus wow had the worst fights in my opinion as battles in wow felt to slow and enemies tends to 99% of the be stronger than you and their abilities recharge faster than yours but I've noticed it was different in ESO some enemies where stronger but 99% of enemies where either lower or where at equal strength as you and the bikitied work the same as yours which made rso battles more enjoyable.

The game is dead argument is so old haha you can legit play the content from realise and you’ll come across top level players doing the same stuff

I'm moving from GW2 because of it's pathetic story and lack of a gameplay that convinces me. I hope ESO is my new home.
The critics about combat seems weird, at least from the background of the game I come from. For example, people talk about weapon swapping, while on GW2, is the standard.

Being able to do Several things at once pretty much kills the role play for me

Scaling doesn’t give you a challenge everywhere, but makes the game feel all flat and less memorable. I love ESO for its story, for its openness towards solo players, I love, that everything is voice acted, but you actually can just sleepwalk through the game, maybe except for bosses of a 4-player dungeon (as a solo player). It doesn’t take players seriously, it keeps you in your comfort zone all the time and still tells you, you’re the great hero who just defeated a huge threat for the world.
I like, that you can choose, in which add on you want to start or play next, but inside one of those chapters, they should make a more noticeable character progression and the combat more challenging, at least more varied.
Despite that, there are two things I don’t understand in this game:
1. in which case would anybody - especially in a SOLO FRIENDLY mmo - like to finally get to the boss of a dungeon, only to have other players suddenly appear and do all the work for you? Dungeons should be instances for the group of players entering them together (1 - X) ONLY!
2. Why isn’t there a auction house - again, especially in a solo friendly mmo? The one thing I’ve always loved about mmos, even while being a solo player for the most part, is the auction house in those games! Why would force people to be in a guild, that expect weekly gold from you, for that, so that I, as a casual player, won’t ever be able to be in such guild, because I won’t ever play continuously enough for that?

Those design decisions pretty much ruin it for me. Even WoW is implementing AI dungeons, you can solo, so these will be a better experience than the ones in ESO.

As a huge Skyrim fan like 5k hour's i'm really into ESO also. But one thing i would change is turn ESO into vertical progression like WoW.

At least from 2020, ESO > WoW

My only complaint is that the combat is a bit flat and way too easy. Other than that it's the best mmo for sure. Sometimes it can be too fast and overwhelming too if you just started a new character and high level op players run through the dungeon in real quick pace leaving you behind so you have to be on your toes to keep with them... That can be a bit of a party pooper at times. And also some of the flashy gear is a bit too much for me. But the game, the World, the voice acting, the quests and bosses, the graphics and landscapes, the music,... All of this is just top notch and beyond perfect
