i like how rick still has the willpower to make fun of jerry even though hes depressed, its like it's hardwired into his brain by this point

I love this sence. Our Rick has spent over haft his life searching for this guy just to avenge his wife and daughter only when the time comes and he beats Rick Prime to death, for him to feel nothing, not even triumph, only a small satisfaction that probably left seconds after it came. He then spends the rest of his day silent and motionless, because after spending so much time dedicated to revenge, he unknowningly gave up his life to that man and is left with only one thought, "What do I do Now?".

This show can be so uniquely human like barely any other can sometimes…

I could go on for hours about how perfect season 7 was.
The re-use of "Look on down from the bridge" by Mazzy Star was perfect, that song captures that empty, dissonant feeling perfectly, and in context it's perfect as well, it first played when Morty realized how insignificant he was to Rick, and it plays because Rick realized he is NOW insignificant because his life's purpose, his whole entire drive to live is fulfilled, but he isn't.
I love the imagery of a now-empty inside Rick covered in blood, too, it's haunting.

It's interesting, like really interesting how now that Rick prime is dead, something the show has been slowly gravitating towards forever, it just feels so empty, anticlimactic, because this wasn't justice, it was vengeance, vengeance is often empty.
The interesting thing to me was the "Rick project", what the fuck is that supposed to be.

I think the next antagonist should be an evil angry hateful abused beth who was heavily abused, tortured and tormented by her rick as his coping with diane's death. And after killing her father, she's sets herself on a journey to kill every rick, beth, Jerry, summer and Morty in possible existence.

Opportunity missed for Rick paying an even higher price to get his revenge and show the layers of morality. This could have been pulled off better than in the Last Of Us II.
Rick Prime could have been the most evil bastard in infinity if he exploited knowledge about himself, and used psychological torture instead of engaging in a fist fight, just to be meta and impress the audience. But we the audience don’t need to love villains, we love to hate them. Rick got to close, now in order to escape even a bug loses a limb, inflict pain and be a goddamn villain to hate. That’s why there is a central finite curve, which also excludes the most evil fictional characters ever written.
He could have been one of them.

This scene makes me think much more. Because for years, I've really wanted to take a revenge on the classmates and teachers who abused and bullied me at the school. Nobody was on my side and the high school days were like hell. Even though I'm 25 and left that horrible place long time ago, scars are still there, and the will for the vengeance remains with me. Idk if it's a proper comparison, I hope you get my point

Well Rick Got what he wanted. Now he knows That "That's it, What's Next."

This song first plays when Morty first learns about alternate Ricks and Morty’s, as well as their disposability and how much less important their own universe suddenly is.

Now it’s playing a second time when Rick finally disposes an alternate version of himself in pursuit of life-long revenge that has now come to fruition.

Both are the realisation of a sudden, new endless empty incomprehensible void, which is why they both occur halfway into their respective seasons and not as the finale.

Gotta give it to Evil Morty. He fought for his freedom and got it.

One of the downsides of revenge, spending your entire life looking for the person who brought you so much pain. After killing them, you accomplished your goal, you did it, now you have no purpose. The only thing that gave you a purpose was tracking down the person who hurt you. Now that there dead, you have no reason to keep going. Unless you have people that are still close to you.
