every video says you need to plug an instrument into your mac via USB.....but i plug my guitar and mic in the jack socket and works fine

Love your tutorial. Do you have any more details like click tracks and backing tracks for live performances? My main interest is to purchase tracks and be able to import them into garage band and be able to align them for playback in a live situation.
