I moved from An iPhone 12 Pro Max to the 13 Pro Max specifically for the upgraded camera features and I actually think the camera got worse not better. Especially when you’re trying to focus the cam on something and it keeps switching between close and regular lenses and keeps changing where you’re aiming at. The 12 Pro Max didn’t do that and I believe the images were a little bit better quality on it as well. In my experience the 13 just has an all-around crappy camera.

"Two times better" probably means "1 stop of light more" or twice as much light.

Omg, this is really amazing. Since when could iPhones take such amazing night shots?

iPhones don't support true long exposure like Galaxy phones and only support image stacking(night mode), making it difficult to get good results in astrophotography. It seems that the new iPhone 15 Pro Max has made some improvements in the processing method. I hope Apple will eventually support true long exposure. As of now, it seems to support a maximum exposure time of just one second. Anything beyond that seems to be emulated by taking video.

what I expected, and it was because of you that I did not decide to buy the 14ProMax, you made it clear to me that the stars were not for the 14. Now I know that I do want to have the 15ProMax. I love it :) thank you very much.

It's pretty malicious that they're using the same sensor and lens design, while getting better results like this with no intention on bringing these software improvements to the 14 Pro series. It's not just the new A17 either, since the 15 uses the A16 and has similar improvements to night mode.

Not that great of an increase to justify going from 14 pro max. Personally, I'll wait for the 16, and see how that goes.

Both the 14 pro max and 15 pro max are using the exact same camera module for the main camera, what youre seeing is probably the software.

Does it still have the heavy fireflies artifacts every time you take a picture with absolutely any lampposts in the street even if light isn't strong like the iPhone 12,13 and 14?
