Ryzen 5000 Undervolting with PBO2 – Absolutely Worth Doing

What setting should the voltage be set to on msi motherboards? Got a 5900x and x570 tomahawk board. Did all this and set cpu voltage to auto and its at 1.45v

I did all settings on my mobo Rog Strix X570-F gaming. I have 360mm Arctic Liq Freezer II AIO. 5900X CPU.
When testing CBench R23 the CPU is running at 4.25ghz. 20130 Points. :D :D

I am not knowledgeable enough but I did undervolt my 5700x in different method I found in here in YT. Setting my core ratio to 44 and CPU Vcore to 1.2. What is the difference if I undervolt with this PBO method? I have not experienced crash yet on my system after the undervolt while idle and gaming Starfield and running CP2077's benchmark(I will observe this week).

5600x here. Negative offset of 30. Cinebench scores went up by 200 points while the temps maxout at 61.1c. Clockspeeds also boosts at 4650Mhz.

I've got a B450M TUF Pro-II and it has no PBO2 even with the latest bios :(

All cores curve optimizer is faster but the result sometimes not as good as per core optimizer, my advice try optimize it on ryzen master per core and write down the value in the result and then input it manually in bios.

I have B550-I strix and I cannot find the PBO limit setting. Ai Tweaker -> Precision boost overdrive and the curves and stuff is there but where can I disable the PBO limit?

Went from consistent temp of 79 degrees Celsius to 65 degrees Celsius while playing the last of us part 1 with my ryzen 5 5600x 😁

I have to thank you. I was playing mw2 and saw that my CPU was at 87-90c all of the time and gave this video a try and 15 min later in mw2 with the same fps, the cpu maxed out att 78!! That is for me a huge difference👌🏻❤

The Ryzen 5600 processor (a year in use) received 10356 points and a temperature of 71C before undervolting in Cinebench R23. I used only undervolt, left the rest of the settings except for the boost of one core (which I turned off due to a huge temperature jump) on auto. After setting -30, I got 11044 with the same temperature and power consumption. So far on the second day everything is stable. Thank you for the video.

What is PBO2? I can choose Auto,On, Off,Advance mode 1,2,3,4, and Eco mode on my 5700x, B450 board

How much should this decrease the temps of my cpu? My 5900x boots up instantly when I open up core temp and it says 91C or around there. I’m using 25 for the value right now and I haven’t see any changes. After a few minutes after booting up the idle temp is around 75 and can sometimes spike for some reason to 86. Is this normal? It feels like nothing has changed and I’ve been having a problem with this for a while. Not sure if it should be running this hot. While playing some games it is constantly at 90C. I also can’t run it at the value of 30, I tried once but I’m not sure if I should try again since last time it didn’t run or something I don’t remember. I have not much knowledge of computers. Someone please let me know if this is okay or if it’s not a way to fix it. ❤️

My 5900x is not stable with a -30mv offset on all cores. Games appear to be fine, but system would crash / restart and generate WHEA errors when idling or near idling. Need to adjust the offset on a per core basis. Some cores need more juice than others. -30mv might be a good starting point but I wouldn't recommend it as I suspect most people will need to tune it from there and test for stability

wish there was some sort of parallel instructions for this for using ASUS motherboards. I'm too new to this to figure out how to translate the settings from this guide since its based on a MSI mobo

When I started I was able to achieve -15 for my Ryzen 5 5600x on my Asus B450-i MOBO. Now 1.5 years later, I can only hit -9 as max. Am I not cooling my CPU properly? Have BIOS updates become less tolerant? Is my chip silicon quality degrading?

because my cpu caught fire due to temperatures above 80 degrees Celsius without major stress

IG I have a good sample of the 5600x cuz I'm running sub 1v @ over 4.4ghz lol and have been for a LONG time. I set my voltage where I like it and just crept up the clocks til it crashed at just over 4.6ghz, and backed it down .2-3ghz to make sure it's stable. It's been that way a while now.

Is there anyway to lock the core clock at default and using the lower voltage to get the same performance with lower thermals ? 🥺

I cant find the curve control

So I want to undervolt my 5800X3D however I own a gigabyte mobo and my settings are a little different.

When I go into my voltage settings I see these options.

VCORE SOC - Auto

Dynamic VCORE SOC (DVID) auto

CPU VDD18 - Auto

CPUVDDP - Auto 1.8V

DRAM Voltage - 1.2V

So I don't know which setting to change?

Thanks for this guide. I managed to lower my temperatures on Ryzen 7 5700x on B450 TOMAHAWS MAX board from MSI. Idle temps are -5°C. I tested temps on Cinebech R23. All core load temps are -8°C and plus 1100 points! Single core is -7°C.

Anyone that thinks that undervolting gets you a better R23 score than adding voltage is simply delusional.

I have 5600x with Arctic Freezer 34 Esports DUO.
I check the stats with HWinfo64.
Testing with Cinebench R23.

When my "PBO limit" is on "Motherboard" the themps go to 82, when "Disabled" temps are 66.
I saw that when I set Curve Optimizer to "-30" and PBO boost "+200", the Single core clock is higher "4,841" but the Multi-core goes down around "4,260 - 4,313"... Cinebench multi-core test ~11000 or little lower.
Like I said, if I change "PBO limit" to "Motherboard" the temps go 82 to get higher multi-core clock, but it is not worth it.

If I set PBO to just "Enable", without any other setting, the Single core is ~4,65 but the Multi-core goes up to 4,55, at the cost of 82 degrees, which is not good...

I want to achieve both high Single core and Multi-core with arround 66-70 temps!
Any suggestions?
