I'm happy to see some Mana Khemia representation!
ОтветитьPS1 Threads of Fate. SNES translated Violinist no Hameln Hiki or Violinist of Hameln.
ОтветитьYou don't have to spend 5 minutes convincing me how good Monster Rancher is. I've been a fan for a while. ;)
ОтветитьConsider Arc Rise Fantasia on Wii - I have been enjoying it despite a couple of difficulty spikes. It is quite long but mostly pretty relaxing to play.
ОтветитьMonster Rancher 2! So nostalgic. Used to play it when visiting step-family during summer vacation. So chill
ОтветитьThat looked just like Final Fantasy VII’s overworld map. But not🤯.
ОтветитьIt's the first time i see someone else talk about Guardian's Crusade, i thought i was the only one who played this gem, it's a hidden gem.
ОтветитьI really appreciate the shout out to Evolution. Despite doing nothing spectacular, I really enjoyed it back in the day.
ОтветитьI just started watching your Relaxing RPGs #2 on my tv, which is now paused so I can see what you had originally -- First off, GREAT CHOICE on that intermission!! Secondly, Shining Force 1 & 2 are the only ones I played on this list (besides your intermission) and right up my alley brother. We may as well just add Shining Force CD to that also since those "remakes" are basically the same graphics, sound and game play of SF 1 & 2. As far as SF3....I feel your pain but it's not the end of the world. Emulating Saturn isn't doable on my Raspberry Pi 3(b+) so until I get something that can handle it, Saturn games are out of reach for the moment - I mean, I literally have thousands of hand selected games with translations, quality of life hacks -- all of which I made sure were properly spelled with_none_of_this_nonsense. I remember wanting a Saturn so bad -- I even got to play it in 1994 at Universal Studios before the release. Those were definitely the days, but looking back now, I wish these companies would have held on to what they already had in the 16 bit era. Just look at what "fans" are putting out on 16 bit systems. It seems to be mostly Genesis for programming reasons apparently but that's besides the point. Everyone (including me) just HAD to have the next best thing with the PS1 and N64, then the next...and the next...and look at what is going on today with most of the nonsense that gets pushed onto the public. If you're anything like me, you don't care for that garbage either.
Anyhow, great video and it looks like I have some titles to add to the list I will never finish! Back to the "#2" video....
Great video. I didn’t know most of these games, but I LOVED Monster Rancher 2 when I was in high school. My boyfriend (now husband) lent my his old psx and gave me a copy of it, and I used to play it for hours.
ОтветитьI remember Flint the Time Detective. I just wish it was still easily findable. I also wish I could get more species unlocked on MR2 besides the ones from the IMBA/FIMBA meet
ОтветитьFinal Fantasy VII was my comfort game growing up, and still is. I can't count how many times I started a new file as a kid just because Midgar felt like home. I still make a note of it to play it through at least once a year. Pure cozy nostalgic bliss.
ОтветитьDark cloud 2 is absolutely my favourite cozy game... dungeon crawl, monster capturing, fishing, photography, golf... lol and more...
ОтветитьSuikoden is digital comfort food since the mid 90's.
ОтветитьShining Force ❤️.
ОтветитьI also loved Monster Rancher's anime.
ОтветитьStill don’t understand what disc does what lol
ОтветитьSHINING FORCE MENTIONED 🎉🎉🎉
ОтветитьThanks for featuring Guardian's Crusade. It was a hugely underrated PSX gem with innovative mechanics (seamless overworld, no random battles) and a heartwarming story.
ОтветитьDark Cloud 2 does it for me.
ОтветитьIs it weird that I think Koudelka is cozy?
ОтветитьLunar silver star harmony on psp is incredibly cosy and perfect imo.
I also think FF15s whole roadtrip styling is very cosy and comfort food for me.
Blue dragon was a good shout!
Monster rancher 2 🔥
ОтветитьFor me it was Legend of The River King on my Gameboy Color. I truly loved that game.
ОтветитьYeah, u should mention it's console games in title, u waisted my time
ОтветитьList should be titled most quirky, yet mostly unknown JRPGs that arent exactly cozy unless you played them, which most haven't.
ОтветитьJust watched this. I was pumped you ended with monster rancher. That was a series that I saw maybe 4 episodes of, but fell in love with right away and just never got to see more of it, and I never once found the games to buy back then. Im so happy you told me the games are on switch! Ill be getting them :)
ОтветитьChrono cross and grandia are my picks.
ОтветитьR.I.P Akira Toriyama
ОтветитьFinally, Monster Rancher 2 got reviewed. It is my comfort game till this day. I still played whenever I feel down.
Ответитьthanks from sweden
ОтветитьMonster Rancher 2 is highly addictive. i used to conduct my own tournament with my frozen dying monsters.
ОтветитьYour takes are similar to mine. I appreciate you.
ОтветитьI always felt Guardian's Crusade would have been a massive hit on the n64.
The lighthearted vibe really feels at place with Nintendo.
Graphics too looks like it could have been there
When I wasa a kid I thought monster Rancher was going to become the new pokemon, and I really liked the anime. The music was hard. A couple friends had the game and they talked about it all the time and never really let me play much. I felt like I was missing out bad. wowee lol
ОтветитьAtelier games for me
ОтветитьApe escape
ОтветитьBug Fables is pretty good... puzzles are decent and art style is sweet. Thumbs up!
ОтветитьI bounced off Blue Dragon so hard, I probably never gave it enough of a chance, but I hated the main character.
ОтветитьA suggestion for the next cozy RPG list: Custom Robo on the GameCube, Harvestella on the Switch and Zelda Wind Waker (yes, Zelda is an action RPG for me).
ОтветитьBrave Fencer was a testament that Squaresoft were gaming gods back then. Not only can they make great JRPGs like Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy, but they can also do Action RPGs in the vein of Zelda.
ОтветитьI would definitely add Breath of Fire 3 for ps1 to the list. Got lost in the beautiful world and unique feeling for hours and hours as a kid. A true masterpiece.
ОтветитьUNLOCK YOUR DISC
ОтветитьYou're the only person in YEARS that I've heard reference "Flint The Time Detective". That's when I watched anime, but had no idea what anime was man geeze, good times😁.
Ответитьwhat was the deal with the intermission? Other than that great selections of rpg's
ОтветитьWait........ did you troll me? No way Blue Dragon's battle theme is Deep Purple.
ОтветитьNi no kuni was and still is one of the most enjoyable games I’ve ever played. Not too much stress , just a wonderfully made video game in my opinion. It’s one of those nostalgia things But man I just loved that game
ОтветитьEvolution 2 was the first JRPG I played, on Dreamcast way back in 2000.
I was 9, in way over my head and didnt get much past the first boss, but I absolutely loved it. It was 2-3 years later that I borrowed Kingdom Hearts from a friend, then rented FFVII and I was hopelessly hooked.
Literally changed my life in a lot of ways. Wouldn't be the content creator I am today without those experiences.
