I hate it that you can't reason with Piper and Nick. You can't say that it's all was for your son and you can't say "What would you do on my place?" and it seriously irritates me that you can't promise change the Institute for good. I seriously doubt they would be so judgemental after that. Bethesda's writing at it's glory.

As the most powerful faction in the entire commonwealth, you can effectively make the commonwealth a way better place. Now that I think about it, the institute could rebuild the worlds

What's with people defending synths. They are AI. They are machines. They don't have rights and definetly don't need "freedom". They aren't people, and it's fucked to act like they are. I do the institute ending because that allows me to become director of the Institute and with that power I can make us work on positive things instead of abosulutely useless synths. Seriously though, I hate how fo4 doesn’t talk about the elephant in the room - that the institute has both the technology and the minds to help post-apocalyptic America. Could there not have been an alternative ending where you take over control of the institute and use it for good where the BoS, minutemen and railroad won’t hate you?

When i first played fallout, i remembered stalling by doing various quests around the commonwealth before making my final decision on which faction i was gonna side with, eventually, FOR SOME REASON, i decided on the Institute

There should've been a fifth solo ending where you destroy everyone (besides minutemen because they really aren't important) and nobody knows what to think of it.

this is what people never understood, we are in charge of the institute, and we can use that to actually better the world. and if they try to kill you, just remember. we can take out 100 guys no problem. we can survive a mini nuke to the face.

It's to bad there wasn't a dlc where you could take the institute in a better direction, so your companions could give you the "well I guess I was wrong reaction.

I wish there was an option to capture the institute with a faction and alter their research priorities rather than outright destroying it. Something that made little to no sense with the brotherhood ending considering their motivations. The technology they have would really expand the fallout universe so it’s a shame that an institute ending won’t be canon.

Advancements with the molecular relay could see people sent to other cities across the world allowing factions like the NCR a chance to interact with east coast factions.

An all out war between all the main factions taking place across the US in an effort to gain ultimate authority would be special. Shame it’ll likely never happen in a playable form anyway.

Piper, wasn't ur paper turning neighbors and family against each other anyway? Anyway I always make sure to kill Kyle in Diamond City, as long as the Institute works in the open they won't be the boogeymen no more till another takes its place.

I honestly don't know why this is painted in such a bad light. You're literally in direct control of the most powerful and knowledgeable organization in the game. Your kid handed you the boss title. YOU are the Institute in their ending, they go in the direction you'd guide them. They also don't have any need for the sneaky underhanded shit they were doing before. They won, they don't need to subvert control of the local populace or avoid detection of enemy factions.

To this day think the Institute is the real "good" ending.
Everyone thinks short sighted on things. In the long run YOU as the player now own the Institute and command it. What the Institute tried to achieve was good, but executed horribly. And it takes a lot of great minds to rebuild a world like Fallout.

That is the problem when you start to think only emotionally, but not logically or rationally.

The good guys

Sole Survival is the leader now. He can stop kidnappings and use İnstitute's technologies for good of the Commonwealth. Why are they so mad?

this is what fallout 4 fell short comparing with Vegas, it is just black and white ending, there is no gray ending.
everything you do is either a hero or villain.

Almost no one likes the institute. The institute wants to get rid of all pre war technology and it doesn’t really make sense as someone who’s whole life was pre war would be with the institute.
The institute also kidnappes people sure they arnt killed but that’s inhumane and kept at the institute with force.
It also feels like Shaun is trying to brainwash you to become the leader of the institute and make them seem great
