I've noticed that when I capture and upload at 1440p my scanlines look super clean. 1080p is okay but 1440p is better and also at a lossless settings within OBS Studio. At least that's what works with my RetroTink 5X setup. I like your content.. keep it up! All I do is upload captures like you! tee hee ... great stuff! I'm subbed!
ОтветитьGBS8200 (+GBS-Control) is an outstanding scaler for the price. It even has a few advantages over OSSC. I ordered all the needed pieces (GBS, HDMI adapter, clock gen module, VGA cable for Dreamcast) and only spend 40$ on it. You simply can't beat the price.
ОтветитьGreat video! Thanks for the nice comparison recordings!
ОтветитьCan the sharpness and brightness be turned up?
ОтветитьOh gosh that Ridge Racer audio.... This is impressive and I might have to just get one of these over the OSSC. How is this looking with the MClassic? (I know. I am a broken recond about the MClassic :P) I wonder if 480p or 720p would look better.
ОтветитьNice video!
I ordered mine from tindie a few weaks ago. Since then, I've been searching for a SCART -> VGA adapter.
I came across Sync Strike, but I didn't see lot of reviews for it on the internet so, what SCART -> VGA apdater would you recomend?
Thanks!
can you use s-video whit the gbs?
ОтветитьOMG! Thank you for Ridge Racer V! It looks so good but I just bought RetroTink 5X to play this game on 4K tv (KAICO HDMI suck). Love this channel :)
ОтветитьSince a few weeks I'm seriously thinking of buying a new tin soldering a start a GBS Control as my 2021 pandemic project. I really miss so much to work with electronics.
ОтветитьInteresting
ОтветитьMd/streets of rage/scaled/scanlines + soft filter look great..... but why is the sound slowed? Emulation?
ОтветитьCan you try the GBS Control with Wii and GameCube (both 480p)? Is It better plug the component cable in the TV or scale the signal with this scaler (in 1080p)?
Ответитьwas wondering if there are any composite solutions for gbs-c? how would the koryu look through it? although I imagine you might as well just use a tink mini... but I'm still curious. I take it you're using an RGB modded n64?
ОтветитьI've built a gbs-c unit for myself, but the colors in your video appear to be a little more accurate. I think I'm experiencing some sort of color crush from the vga-to-hdmi converter I'm using on the output. Do you know what chroma subsampling the gbs-c uses? I tried to use a different vga-to-hdmi converter for comparison, but for some reason, it wouldn't accept the gbs-c's 1080p output and the best it would accept was 720.
Ответитьnice video. but I would still buy Retrotink 5x because of 1. less display lag 2. faster resolution switching. I know each device has its own advantage. Retrotink 5x is expensive $275. this one is $100 less but to me I rather choose easier setup by spending $100 more. but everyone has different priority.
Ответитьhi there, i have another question, since my n64 is not rgb modded, is it possible if i plug my n64 to retrotink2x to get 480p signal, and then connecting it via hdmi-vga converter to gbs control in order to get 960p?
i prefer gbsc instead of ossc, because the motion adaptive feature is very tempting
How do you get the audio to the hdmi? does the gbs-c have any type of audio input?
Ответитьmusic in sor2 plays too slow
ОтветитьI want to downscale to my PAL CRT (Sony trinitron KV-m2171U) over SCART. So for example, using a slim PS4 or PS3 outputting 480p (over hdmi into the GBS input via vga) and then downscaling into 240p for my CRT.
I'm looking to build my own GBS-C with an 8200 board. I understand that the GBS output over VGA gives RGBHV, and that I'll need a sync combiner to make it produce a SCART compatible RGBS. I've got a VGA2SCART to hopefully make this happen. I'll also modify a scart cable to supply a blanking voltage on SCART pin 16 to force RGB mode in my TV (as VGA2SCART doesn't do this as is).
Would my idea work to downscale 480p into a PAL CRT SCART compatible 240p?
(Also note that I've looked into Mike Chi's component to SCART converters and these seem a bit too much extra cost to use as an alternative piece of the output puzzle. I've also looked at some of the various small fixes/capacitor and resistor mods listed on the GitHub which I might also implement)
Why can they not use a raspberry pi to do this
ОтветитьThanks so much! Now I'm definitely getting one for my 480p CRT so I can get those scanlines and low input lag!
ОтветитьIs this gbs as good as the retrotink 5x pro or ossc pro?
ОтветитьIt's possible user GBS + OSSC to solver 240p 480i switch resolution? Passthrough Output GBS in VGA input OSSC?
ОтветитьAre you in PAL region? Streets of Rage 2 seemed a little slower than usual
ОтветитьAnyone selling these pre-configured in the UK?
Ответитьdumb question, is there some form of 720p passthrough mode? like if I wanted to have my ps3 hooked up through component to it? Or would it be stuck to 480p?
ОтветитьI have a gbs-aio that is prebuilt, haven't had time to mess with it yet. Are there any limitations with inputs and outputs other than getting the video signal to 480p to downscale. For example, component seems the easiest, component in, component or HDMI out. My concern is Dreamcast in particular, if I'm rgb scart in, can I go component out? Can this serve as an rgb to component converter?
ОтветитьHi,
I just got one gbsc. Anyone knows if the gbsc support PS2 RGB sync on green for 480p? my ossc accepts but no output from gbsc.
-->after testing my gbsc, it supports the sync on green via a switch. good.
Great video! I have a question though: did you evcer manage to scale the PS2 output image to fit the entire 4:3 aspect ratio of a 1080p screen? Or even full width of the screen with a widescreen game? Whenever I try to scale the image to the borders of the screen - I get artifacts on the right side of the image. Is this something you can't fix or is it avoidable?
ОтветитьThis is gamescare gbs control?
ОтветитьDo you know if the Mcbazel ODV GBS-C Converter is any good? I found one on Amazon for around 120 dollars
ОтветитьWondeful video. I considering to buy the Mcbazel ODV-GBS-C. Is it good as your DIY unit? Any suggestion? It has also an optional second unit for component/s-video consoles (like the unmodded N64).
Thanks!
Generate scanlines ?
ОтветитьAmazon germany lists this as "Mcbazel ODV-GBS-C " for 83€ incl. taxes. It has rgb scart, hdmi, an oled displaya and claims motion adaptive deinterlacing. Firmware seems an alternative to gbs-control.
ОтветитьHi. Can i have scanlines on ps2 games, please?
ОтветитьAny good adapter to imput composite AV video?
ОтветитьI want that case you show for the pre-assembled version but the seller isn't active anymore? Does anyone know if the STL files for the case are available anywhere?
Ответитьdo you know of any solutions to use an Atari SC1435 as a monitor for a computer? Would love to use it for my video work as it has a green screen mode, but being a 15kHz RGB monitor with a 9 pin Dsub, it's proving to be a bit of a challenge.
ОтветитьI have 1080p LCD TV can I upscale the gemes to 1080p and than scale it with menu via internet? or its bad?
ОтветитьGood video friend this channel is amazing! a question I have is if it can be solved so that the black backgrounds do not look gray. or is it a defect of the upscaler?
ОтветитьWhat capture card were you using for your testing with the gbs-c?
ОтветитьIf you have any questions feel free to ask.
Please don't forget to like and subscribe for more content. :)
PS: No you can't stretch/scale/move the image in combination with the PS2 tool "GSM". But it does work with the standard input from all consoles I have tested including the PS2.
