I'm afraid that movie business is on the same road as music industry and it's too late now. We are going too fast in terms of technology, now we've got huge internet bandwidth, 4k is almost a standard (many even talking 8k), fancy cheap home projectors, cheap huge TVs, the lockdowns, etc, now many people would prefer just to stay home and not go "hit and miss" with a movie. While music died first and was always about binaries 0s and 1s and usually a final mobile device with cheap crappy headphones (so for the regular consumer there was no final difference between CD or FLAC/MP3, etc), in the movies industry Audio and Video quality are no longer an issue (in fact, now many times you even get better experience in your own home). Once they concentrate what we watch in just a few platforms, they got us in the pocket. It's like before internet, only a few news channels and only those used to show "the only true narrative".

Producers used to pick 3 top songs from a 12 song album to get you to buy the whole album, but as time went on, people only listened to the same 3 songs because they didn't WANT to pay for the rest of the album. Streaming helped artists with their less popular content while robbing the labels of their referral fee

Billboard should only count the 10 hottest out of all the filler songs, that would change that problem.

I remember when everyone was freaking out about napster, but truth is napster has nothing on streaming and i'm certain musicians were making much more than 12% even with people stealing their music. Turns out you just needed a business license to steal it legally.

Bhad Bhabie makes the majority of her income from scamming fans, softcore porn and television guest appearances. I very much know for a fact that her streaming royalties aren't going to her pockets. I doubt she writes any of the lyrics/music to her songs.

This is exactly why music is BORING. You can get it whenever and wherever you want.

Talent is mostly forgotten in today's music, all you have is an over-saturation of bad, and I do mean bad rappers, total garbage dumbed-down stuff. Not a Public Enemy or Run DMC to be found anywhere on the black side. It is the people like Tom McDonald and other white rappers who now have something to say.

N now people keep asking why artists are selling out their music. You need ~2.5 MILLION streams per MONTH to make minimum wage, literally

in my book there is no benefit to receive for instance 0.00 cents for 10 streaming on iTunes Match, if we, all the musicians and creators would reunite against this scam and retrieve all our music from those platform, maybe peoples would pay again for music and realize the value of it. It is a shame that we all contribute to promote those bastards...

I stream and if an album or band is good enough for me, I buy it on CD and make backups of it using my external Blu-Ray drive.

There was a suggestion towards the end of this video to still collect vinyl & CDs. From my experience that has been increasingly difficult as pressings seem much more limited. I guess we can thank streaming for that too? Smh
