Thanks for this but it only opens a new file with the default template. All my old files still open with a grey desk which drives me nuts. I was hoping this would address that. I guess I have to change the document settings individually for all my old files as I access them. I don't know why they can't make this a global setting in preferences.

Hi Nick, I’m just wondering if you can make tutorial how to design word art in Inkscape , like having a text inside a heart or teddy bear shape or complicated shape like music note. I don’t meant on the outline, i mean the text fills the whole area inside the shape This will be great!!

Using default template with dark chess canvas and square resolution for logos, like, one year now. This is nice!

My favorite teacher. I learned a lot from you and even your intro music gives me a very nostalgic feeling. I am using 1.2 version and the only problem i have found is scrolling through the font gallery. For ex: if i select a font starting with letter A for a logo and then next day, i can not go beyond that font style when i scroll down the font gallery. It keeps rotating arond the number of fonts just before the selected font i used yesterday.

It cant change canvas color in 1.1.2... And if I will install newest version, all my settings will be deleted... and Inkskape has not "update" option........ 1.2.2 is so laggy btw
