Congratulation - Thank you very much! You first time managed to physically remove this brain destroying irradiation threat off a RasPi and (more important) proved that it still will boot! Castrating such factory-prebugged all-in-one standard equipment is in many places mandatory for security and health reason.

Has anybody successfully eliminated wifi from modern routers? Mine ist limited to DSL 16k because there is nothing available (beside moonpriced lab equipment) that is not infested with this pulsed microwave disease.

Is it posible to remove the wifi/bt chip on the Raspberry Pi 3 A+? It is in another location under a metallic shield, and I would like to completely disable wiifi and bt by hardware.

So the real question is what caused the WiFi chip to start overheating to begin with? Faulty chip? Physical damage to the board that went unnoticed until it started randomly shutting down?

Tip: Next time use solder wick to remove the solder. Works much better. But be careful that you don't touch it to parts that you don't want to remove solder from.
