Closest to Minecraft is Minetest with Mine Clone 2 game mode but even then you gonna notice a lot of differences such as they cannot use Minecraft trademarked names such as Illagers, Vex etc but they use words that are not trademarked Overworld, Nether etc.

Wish someone will clone Trove in MineTest. Fun game, combat and movement is great, building is a bit weak due to lack of block variety, the worse is that it's an MMO. I want an offline version of it.

P.S. It's kind of shocking that Mojang hasn't created an official mod API for Minecraft - one that works on both Java and Bedrock.

While this doesn't have everything that Minecraft does (with mods it can do it though) After testing it out I have to say that this is better on my computer than Minecraft is.

At least minetest isn't messing with censorship and taking the ability to moderate your own server. Minetest lacks a little bit of polish, but I think it's worth not having big brother lurking over your shoulder in the chats, ready to ban your account at a moment's notice.

I love Minecraft i just wish there was a story. It's like I'm doing a bunch of side quests but where do i go to progress?

With the eula of minecraft. MINETEST now seems way better

back when i was running alot of mods, on 1.12 and lower, i had found a good in game mod manager.
titan launcher doesnt work with authed accounts anymore so i dont know what else may not work anymore.

with bedrock i dont know how the payments are handled. is it like ebay where only a small portion of each transaction is taxed or are the mod makers getting screwed?

As a brazillian id say i never have seen or heard of minetest not even in school so…

Let's ignore all the miracle type of changes from the fan made Minecrafts and just take a look at the rendering distance... It's clear that Mojang simply isn't doing their job. It's been 10 years, LOD isn't that hard to implement. Not to mention how broken BE edition still is. But they would rather spend all that effort onto new caves and mobs? At this point it's the playerbase that still keep this game rolling

I used to play mine test on my old netbook that couldn’t run Minecraft

I haven't developed mods for Minetest in over 4 years now. Was active on there from 2012 till 2019 but when a mod breaking update came (0.5.0) i just stopped. Now im back to 8bit development again, but Minetest was great fun to make mods.

So they are just making the Linux version of Minecraft. You have to be a coded to play and it's always a decade behind. Don't do this guys just wait for a proper mods to occur again

As an developer that is remaking Eaglercraft to newer versions of Minecraft every time, i can be included.

You should look into Vintage Story as well. It's got the same "Minecraft Clone that actually tries to do something cool" sorta feel.

Only good minecraft clone is Crafting and Building (mobile clone)

You can just not make spaghetti code and think of optimisation and suddenly your minecraft is better

Minetest is my childhood. The game I played when my family couldn't afford MC... I remember playing so much of the LotR mod with my dad.
