AS OF THE NEW UPDATE THE GLITCH HAS BEEN PATCHED. Everything will appear okay and the HUD in the bottom corners will be gone when asking if you want to use the soul, but upon clicking yes, the boss soul is gone anyway- PS4

If people actually do this, they shouldn't play the game. No point playing a game if you are going to cheat your way through. Get Good and play without exploiting glitches.

Also helpful: you do NOT need to press down on the D-Pad in the timing sequence. Simply hold it down the entire time, from start to finish. I have no desire to screw up anyone's game/boss souls so I assure you, holding the D-Pad arrow down instead of trying to time it in the sequence does in fact work and makes one less button to try to time correctly.

PS4 USERS: I've found that pressing the right side of the touch pad vs. the Options button is MUCH easier. Think about it: tiny Options button, or right half of touch pad? Have gone from 40-ish percent success to close to 90%. Do every single step in this video BUT: replace Options button with right half of touch pad. Sooo much more room and much easier to press in time.

YOU HAVE TO HAVE A SLIGHT DELAY FROM PRESSING X DURING THE PARRY AND PRESSING START TO DO THE FLASK PART.

I figured it out and got it more consistently.

1. You want to find the timing of the item usage. To do that you must parry your shield and press the use button (meaning you press the use button during the animation of the parry; with a Caduceus round Shield the timing to press is when the arm is parallel to the ground.) if the yes or no menu pops up, that means that is the right time to press it. If it doesn't pop up, then you did it too early.

2. When you find out when to press the use button, you want to find out when the "Yes or No" menu pops up at the end of the parry animation. So look at your hands and find reference points to measure the timing of the menu popping up. you'll notice that if you buffer the use button, the animation and the menu popping will always be at the same spot.

3. Your goal is to use the flask AS that "Yes or No" menu pops up.

It's not about being fast, it's about timing the usage of the soul during the parry animation, then using the flask as the "Yes or No" menu pops up. I was trying to figure out how this glitch works and pretty much you are buffering the usage of the boss soul but then associating the "Yes or No" menu with the flask. so when you press yes, you will use the flask (with the indefinite use) but still keep the "Usage function" which is the boss soul giving the X amount of souls.

great way to ruin the game...yeah the glitch is there doesn't mean you should use it...completely takes away the point of the game when you're overpowered

i did this with rolling too, its easier to do but its also riskier as sometimes it can mess up and waste the boss soul
