Why is this Calamity weapon MELEE???

day 5107 of git complaining about calamity (even though he really loves the mod)

(before you get angry, watch the video fully, I don't mean any hate to Calamity devs)

They should really just rework it. Since it looks like a massive axe just make it behave like a massive axe. Maybe it appears to be swinging slowly. It could do high damage and as you're hitting enemies a barrage of burning meteors will slowly start raining down and they eventually speed up until they hit a cap.

i'm pretty sure that's the joke/point? isn't it like this to make fun of ppl who defend melee weapons that are just wands with a swing? while also demonstrating that classes should be more about playstyle and synergy than what they "should" be classed as based on their appearance/animation?

Kinda shows how removing the swinging literally just makes most melee weapons magic or ranged, which is why I like the direction of the ark and biome blade line

If it were a mage weapon the mana would drain to much therefore melee could hace mage weapons

This is a weapon in the same mod that's community says whips are melee

They really aren't.
If you slapped a mana cost on this nobody would bat an eye, but whips would be a completely different feel for melee.

I think its a melee weapon because it would be weird to change the weapon entirely just because of its design.
