Why Call of Duty Advanced Warfare Was the Death of CoD

Oh my god advanced warfare 2 is coming i swear it wasnt my fault

I always kinda liked this game, but it definitely killed COD no doubt in my mind, if the other games didn’t follow suite of this one, I’m sure people would look back on it a bit more fondly, it was always more grounded to me than BO3 or Infinite Warfare.

Yeah this game sucked ass and theres a ton of fan boys who defend it for some reason. The only reason it sold 21 million copies is because it was the first real futuristic cod and until everyone realized how shit and pay to win it was it lost it's popularity faster than any cod game. I can't find any redeeming qualities about it. The movement was clunky, maps were mediocre, the bal 27 meta was overused to shit, first cod to introduce pay to win gambling, zombies got worse, campaign was decent. I'd put it in the D tier of cod games.

At this point there were no boss in zombies the only kinda boss in bo2 is the weasel at the end of mob of the dead no one did bosses till bo3 Easter eggs in shadow of evil

This is what made me stop playing COD. Ive never complained about Black Ops 2. It's what got me hooked. Nowadays, im trying to play COD again but im only slighlty into Warzone. Nothing has been the same for me.

This is definitely the most fun multiplayer ever. The supply drop system is amazing and I want them to bring THIS EXACT SYSTEM back.

This game brought me back to COD, what people forget is everyone started to figure out how to be good at those old games, all you had to do was camp a lane on a head glitch, and there was literally nothing you could do to stop it… Jet packs changed tha,t no more pre-aiming a lane on some god tier head glitch the entire game, campers hated it and I loved it.

To a extent, I have to agree regarding skill based match making. I find Dead by Daylight matches to be most engaging when everyone is equally skilled in the match. On the other hand, I might like Star Wars Battlefront 2, but most times it's frustrating as heck because of the way EA implemented it's skill based match making. The most engaging matches are the ones where I feel like I'm contributing, but not absolutely dominating my opponents. But it is extremely obvious when the game's match making is actively feeding you "easy" kills to keep you 'engaged' or feeding you to someone else as an "easy" kill. Those are the matches where one side absolutely dominates the other with little issue. I'd rather have a K/D ratio of 1 then a 20/1 or 1/20 kill/Death ratio.

AW was my favorite cod

I really liked this game and thought it was a decent progression and innovation for the CoD franchise, and I’d much rather have a sequel to this game than most of the CoDs that have been released since. Sledge Hammer needs their own CoD storyline to expand on, Infinity Ward has been fine rebooting MW, Treyarch found a way to keep their world alive with Cold War, I hate that Sledge hammer was used to push out MW3 instead of something new

AW great gameplay but the next frontier of crappy monetization in cod games. Bo3 and bo4 played great aswwell, after that was the fall off in quality bc these cmpanies know theres always gonna be some smoothed hand bastard foaming at the mouth for a shitty ideo game

If you played this game on pc in its prime you had so much fun, this game felt like it was made for pc but the community was so small and the game came out at a bad time but honestly i think that if this game came out today it would do goos

Advanced warfare was so fun and as a kid I dominated on the multiplayer gamemodes. I really don’t understand why people hate it or say that it was a dud when it actually brought a new style of play. Yes, BO3 was the perfect blend of future tech with cod mechanics, but this one had its own level of fun. Zombies and loot boxes on the other hand were atrocious in this title. I can completely agree on the criticism for that. The Single player was fine, nothing special besides the amount of actors who were brought in to portray some characters. It really pushed the graphics and quality for COD. Showing they were capable of high fidelity graphics for the time. This to me was a perfect building block for COD and it was the platform that they pushed off of to reach where they needed to go.

Advanced warfare is still the best CoD game to come out . The amounts of fun it provides is ridiculous

I’m surprised at the many positive comments about this game. I found it truly terrible, and it made me quit the franchise, having played every COD online religiously since COD4, and played the ones before less regularly.

I hated everything about this game. I honestly can not think of a single thing where I’m like…. “okay, that part or feature was decent”.

with the way these game reboots/remasters are going, I'm sure Advanced Warfare is coming again soon... I mean they already have MW2 re-released, with MW3 coming soon. (originally released in 2009 and 2011)
these game devs these days are so lazy, they will no longer release actual new games

People hate this game but lets be clear. Im an OG player since 2005 and i had an absolute blast on this game. Sure it wasnt like what i was used to, but the new exo movement was wicked and it was a faster paced cod. One thing that never gets mentioned is the fact that the good guns, asthetic stuff werent locked behind a paywall. you had a chance every 10 ranks to get an advanced supply drop to give you those guns or armors for the time you put in. plus you got something back for all the prestiges. nowdays there is no feeling of progression without cash in multiplayer.

It’s the best futuristic Call of Duty in my opinion. Black Ops 3 comes after. I couldn’t get myself to play the others

In Sledgehammer’s defense, the game isn’t rated for kids. They shouldn’t have been exposed to the gambling issue
