This video, audio, and the song itself is downright historic.
ОтветитьThe point in this amazing song where Geddy is singing, playing the bass guitar and keyboards at the same time still to this day raises the hair in the back of my neck. I really miss these guys but am so glad to have 40 + years of music to fall back on.
ОтветитьThe worst Rush song ever. Neil Peart bless him really had an off day with the lyrics. Makes me cringe everytime I hear them.
ОтветитьI didn’t realize Neil was experimenting with traditional way back then… I thought he got into it in the late 90’s when he took lessons from Peter Erskine, which lead up to the Burning For Buddy sessions. Very interesting.
ОтветитьGoose bumps ....... since 1976, at the age of 13....this is my fucking band
ОтветитьI remember seeing this video on M TV back in the 80's Now we have You Tube.I like the ending where they say, "And we enjoyed the music Bob,thank ya.Oh we enjoyed it, we just wanted to share some with ya." I love Rush.Rock on!
ОтветитьI mean no disrespect to the Rush Army , but I don't know how you all can listen to this. #
ОтветитьRush was there live, witnessing the 12 April 1981 launch. Sitting in the grass next to them was Steven Spielberg and George Lucas.
ОтветитьI and a friend watched this launch Rush devoted this song to. It was a thrill to see history made as we watched.
ОтветитьAlways loved this song.
ОтветитьClassic rush open chord sound! Not a good lyrical song from Neil but classic nonetheless
ОтветитьSound is excellent
ОтветитьUsed to stand on the hill in the backyard and watch em.
🥶
I could listen to that outro for hours...
ОтветитьLet L = (P, G, I)
ОтветитьThis song and vidéo give me chill’s all the time .
ОтветитьSignals was a let-down for me when it was released. But now I appreciate it.
Ответить@in fascination, with the eyes of the world we stare”….just love that line so much
ОтветитьThe Bass guitar is the loudest in the Mix. Which is very funny.
ОтветитьSignals was my first album introduced by Uncle in 1983. I loved the drums by Neli Peart and the use of the synthesizer
ОтветитьEvery time, I achieve a milestone on my EE project, I make sure the neighbors enjoy this song too.😀
Ответить"Like a pillar of cloud..."
ОтветитьFeels good
ОтветитьOne of my favorite songs ever. It came out at such an interesting time in my life… a young college student fascinated with technology and science. This song totally validated my nerdy side back in a time when that was decidedly not a cool thing. In fact, Rush was that to me - musically speaking to that part of me that I had been working so hard to hide from everyone. They showed me it was awesome to just be myself…
Blah, blah, blah… 🤣
This is some of Neil’s most creative drumming, and Geddy’s vocal performance here is one of his best. Just an absolutely cool song! Love the video also. What a time to be alive!
My aunt LOVES Rush and this is one of the great classic songs that she (and I) love. I hope she watches this video if she hasn't already.
ОтветитьThe amazing imagery in the lyrics alone are 🔥 combined with the amazing music. Heaven. ❤
ОтветитьIf this song and video gives you even the slightest inspiration, check out John Young's biography. Truly a rock star among astronauts. I don't believe any other astronaut has accomplished what John Young did during his career. If it weren't for this song, I don't think very many people would know who Bob Crippen and John Young were. Sadly, John passed away in January, 2018. RIP, John.
ОтветитьWhat an awesome coupling of Rush and the Space Shuttle! Made me tear up!
ОтветитьMy apprentices in the car world get wound up over anything north of 300 hp. They wonder why I am unimpressed. 35 million blast you into orbit, flatten your face, I think I just shit my pants. Mother-Fing horsepower. The science nerds do this for fun. Much respect. Emulate, but do not mess with nerds.
ОтветитьLa lenta agonia del sole
La morte del mare
Non vedi come tutto scompare
Senza lasciare alcuna traccia
E tutto questo avvicendarsi
Tutto questo amare ed odiare
Tutta questa intelligenza nucleare
Che l'universo governa
A che serve, a che servirà?
Prigionieri di questo piano
Oppure liberi in questo caos non informe
La paura del Logos
Sovrasta quella dello sprofondar nell'eterno.
La consapevolezza di essere in gabbia
Di non essere soltanto amore pulsante
Getta la mente nello sconforto
Nei giorni dove tutto è matematica
L'uomo ha ancora bisogno di sognare.
AWESOME 🤘
ОтветитьI used to be the service manager for a company that installed the big satellite TV systems. On the furtherest satellite to the east, S2, channel 9 was the NASA channel. The test system in the office was always tuned to it. And on launch days, everything came to a standstill for the final countdown.
ОтветитьI supported Shuttle missions from STS-26 to STS-135. It was a tradition to play "Countdown" continuously in my car as I was making my way into work on launch day. After the program ended, I would only hear it when playing "Signals" at home or in the car. Fast forward 11 years. Launch day for the newest vehicle in U.S Space Exploration, Artemis. Heading in to support the launch, a few blocks from the house, the news guy on the radio mentions the "Countdown of Artemis". Countdown? Artemis? COUNTDOWN!!! I stopped the car, turned around, went back home, grabbed "Signals", started "Countdown" and headed in to work. The tradition continues... Ad Astra!
ОтветитьIn my 11,000-plus song collection there are some 100 songs I awarded a (subjective) score of 4 maximum stars. This is one of them.
Ответитьmakes me cry every time. what a gorgeous song in support of NASA and the people who work there.
ОтветитьI always get emotional when I listen to this one.
ОтветитьAm I still suppose to have G bumps at 62 wtf🥰
ОтветитьGot the captions on.
(UPBEAT INSPIRATIONAL MUSIC CONTINUES)
I'm gay.
ОтветитьAlex, I love your tie and your haircut, too.
ОтветитьAs a GenXer growing up watching the shuttle launches, a drummer, and a kid who was a mechanical dreamer riding his bicycle all across nassau county long island. Only one band could combine both music and mechanics into such a beautiful song. That band was Rush. Today at 50 and missing both my youth and the America i grew up in, this song really hits home
ОтветитьThe best band to ever get together to do band type things. Apostles aside. Ty.
ОтветитьMy Dad had a career in flight simulation beginning in the early 60's having built simulators around the world with some to do with the space program, its always fond memories of him and his fellow engineers, what a crew they were. Pioneers... R.I.P.
Ответитьcrank it up
ОтветитьIm finally going to get a double petal for my drum set and this is going to be the first song I play
ОтветитьThis is a bad-ass song Everytime I listen to this it gives me chills.Of what was is now gone.Kudos to the Challenger(86).May they R.I.P.Rush is right on when they did this video.
ОтветитьThis song as with many other Rush songs took me to another place. Thank you for the launch 👍🙏❤️
