How to Fix Minecraft /Forge Exit Code : 1

⁠i need help, I can’t play this versions on curseForge(a place where you can create modpacks and download modpacks) which are 1.19 and 1.20, i have Java 18 which is the most recent version, i have no mods on the minecraft default folder, i find really strange, pls help. Hello, i would need further help por favor :')
I have the latest version of Java and forge, i usually play with BMC2 or 3 with curseforge and it works fine.
I tried to install BMC4 on my computer and my GF's one.

It works on her, so does my BMC4 server (which runs on my computer). BUT my own game keeps crashing with code one even after following everything was advised in this video.

Can someone help please ?

Btw, if it can be of some help my graphic cards are : "AMD Radeon (TM) Graphics" and "NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060" i don't know a ship about these things so i don't even know if what i said makes sense but anyway...

i had the same problem so i changed to iris and sodium, few months later i didnt change anything and it works somehow BUT
now my friend has the same problem, tried without mods and reinstalling the game updating drivers but nothing works

Thank you very much, I watched several videos with different solutions and I hadn't thought that the reason would be the mods

no mods just forge for 19.2 and wont start nor will curge forges app for mods so idk

i have 326 mods and you want me to test them individually?

so im still getting error one i have zero mods on my new pc i have tried both java 17 and java 22 dev kit reinstalled forge and java even Minecraft and i dont believe it to be my driver which is a Radeon RX 5500 XT

I did all of theses (it was a pain doing the last one) and my 1.20.1 still crashed, i don't understand at all, please tell me there's another way without doing something super complicated

does anyone know why i can only get 1.20.4 forge to work but not earlier versions? i wanna play 1.20.1 and have installed the 1.20.1 client numerous times but still cant get it to work even though i go through the exact same process as 1.20.4

Guys i just figured it out . All u gotta do is update drivers then reinstall mod . Done!

I've had a similar problem for a few days. It all probably started after the last launcher update. The game started sometimes and sometimes didn't, and "exit code: 1" appeared, and sometimes my computer restarted. However, we still managed to play occasionally for a few days. I have been playing for 4 years on version 1.16.5 with a permanent, unchanged mod pack. A few days ago it stopped turning on at all. All attempts ended with a computer reset. I uninstalled all mods except forge 36.2.39. Minecraft has started. I started adding one mod at a time. It turned out that the culprit was Inventory Tweaks. The game started for me with all the other mods. Today I tried to look for a similar mod to inventory tweaks. I found inventory profiles next. I installed it. Exit code 1 popped up. I deleted it again. The game stopped starting. I removed all mods except forge mod. The game does not start. I tried running clean version 1.16.5 without forge mod. The game does not start. I deleted all minecraft and reinstalled it. I ran 1.16.5 vanilla. I repeated the operation several times, because sometimes the game started and sometimes the computer was reset. I decided to install several other versions of forge 36.2.20, 36.2.29, 36.2.39, 36.2.34. Similar effect. I installed java 17. The effect is the same. Now I can't even run pure Minecraft 1.16.5 because it freezes and resets my computer. I don't know what to do anymore.
The most interesting thing is that on the second, older computer, where the same minecraft 1.16.5 and the same mods are installed. To be sure, I only removed this inventory tweaks mod. The game starts. The difference between the computers is that the old one still has Win 7 (I have Win10) and the launcher has not been updated. (I play on the server with my daughter, so that's why I have the same Minecraft). Now we can't play together because I can't run minecraft with mods on my computer in any way. Can anyone help? i was using java 8 on a 1.20.1 version through forge and it was working just fine

i have no problem running on different launchers same mods.

Thank you so much!! All i needed to do was reinstall optifine, delete forge and reinstall it again!! Then going one by one, check the mods (in my case decocraft) that crash the game

Replace your entire java argument with, -Xmx6G

I have no mods, I have Java 17, no ressource pack etc and it still won't work... Edit 1h later (after weeks of trying): I managed! I manually donloaded AMD Software Adrenalin Edition (for my AMD Graphic card) and it solved the issue. Tried everything else, even updated AMD via the Windows driver update and it hadn't worked. Hoping it helps others!
