Wow《☆》I like the concept but👍✔In reality it seems like Maverick hybirds have a myriad of things that can go haywire over time◇¿.In Florida I think the little Anole Lizards that are quite plentiful will be using all the panels & components on the bottom as living quarters. I hope it turns out to be a great truck. I'll give it 3 or 4 years before I consider buying one🖖🤓🙏☮

I can see a million things going wrong in ten years.
I still prefer my 2002 ZX3 Manual Focus still running like new.
Not Ford-bashing , Toyota hybrids are as bad if not worse.
There is a Toyota expert channel where he tells you a myriad of things that can go wrong or to look out for that do not apply to a simple ICE-powered car.

It would have been helpful for do it yourselfers to have a couple of accessways for the oil filter and drain plug. Aftermarket will find a way.

In your opinion what do you think will be more reliable the hybrid 2.5 or ecoboost 2.0? I will be putting my order in as soon as ford starts taken them, but I can't decide on the engines.

Hi 👋 the bracket on the mufler i am pretty sure is a heat shield for the spare tire , i have see this on CRV, because the spare will probably never be use, so is to prevant the spare to slowly cook or cook mark lol 👍

These are the types of videos you just don't see before purchasing vehicles. This should be standard on any vehicle being sold anywhere. Consumers not only have the right to know, they 'should' know what they are getting. Well done video mate.

The teeth in the rear, in front of the spare tire, is a method to deflate the spare in the event of a rear end collision. That whole system acts as a "crush zone" to give greater protection to the gas tank, passenger compartment and battery ! Think of it as an airbag in reverse. The act of "deflation" absorbs the energy in a rear end crash. Simple, but effective !

Agree with others - so many videos on seats and radios and cupholders ugh ! Yours gives the info I need. Thanks. I'm slightly dissapointed with Ford's choice to use 450V. I like the near 200-volt batteries on the Prius and others. For such a small battery, it seems a waste to use such high voltage. I noticed others calling it a lithium ion battery. I thought these were lithium iron phosphate - but not sure. The exhaust heat exchanger is good idea, IMO. In winter, these vehicles will need battery heating, and I suspect the engine coolant is not enough to heat both the cabin and battery. One other lost opportunity on front drive pickup trucks - the rear bed can be made really low - but for some reason, no manufacturer seems to think thats a good idea.

Also concerned about AWD Ecoboost model (which I prefer).

So the AC compressor is electric powered the water pump too,. There is no regular alternator (inside Ecvt, starter too) so I assume there is no serpentine belt on front of engine since there is nothing to drive. ? One less thing to change.

With a DC to DC converter you would think that would eliminate the 12 volt battery

Thank you so much for this great view of my vehicle. I had the misfortune of hitting something on the highway that broke through the bottom plate protecting my hybrid battery and busting one of the coolant lines. The lead times for getting into a dealership in my area are long, so I'm trying to identify the part I need to swap the hose myself. I think screenshots from this video will help a lot.

Will the hybrid system shutdown safely if there's no battery coolant and allow me to drive on internal combustion only or is there risk of damaging the hybrid system with little or no coolant going back to the battery back?

It has the DC to DC convertor. So why does it need a 12v battery? If everything runs off of the big battery, what runs on the 12v?

Edit: Just seeing another comment and you replying saying the 12v battery is for starting the engine. So is that the only reason for the 12v? So with the engine off, all accessories run from the convertor?

I was out in my Hybrid yesterday when it was 97 degrees. I pulled into a parking lot so my wife could run in for one item so I let the air conditioner run for the ten minutes it took for her to come back out. I like that the engine did not have to run for that amount of time while I sat there in cool comfort.

I've added about 160K to the used 2011 Escape hybrid I bought. A bit simpler. My battery is air-cooled & in the rear interior. I use it for delivery work so the pump for the dc converter electronics has run a LOT of hours. I always listen for the wine of that pump though because that's where troubles occur if it stops working.

Thanks for the great video. The exhaust is a rust wear item here in the north. There is a special place in hell for the managers who decided the coolant heat exchanger should be part of the ‘short’ life exhaust system.
