The $160K BYD (Yang Wang) U8 is flashy trash.
Hard pass on the YW U8 PHEV. It only has 200 km (120 mi) range on the small batteries and includes a high maintenance gas engine. It's totally ridiculous. It defeats the purpose of having an EV.
The tank turns feature is impractical since it puts tremendous torque stress on the motors and components. It also wears thousands of miles off the tires tread with regular use. Yang Wang recommends against using these features. They said it's for emergency use only.
YW U8 PHEV has an IP68 rating, which means a device can survive against dust and up to 1.5 meters of water for 30 minutes.
