Learn Visual Studio Code in 7min (Official Beginner Tutorial)

Hi. I am having problems in running the JavaScript. It will not debug. Nothing comes up in the "Debug Console" tab and it takes me to the blank "Terminal" tab. I have followed everything correctly up to now. Is there any external debugging software we need to download or is there something that isn't explained in the video that we need to be doing? Any help would be appreciated, thank you!

When installing the python extention my macbook had a popup saying "python3 command requires the command line developer tools" and I clicked cancel by accident while trying to search up what I should do with it, python seems to be working fine in VS code?

Already lost. tried to run the java script sample and the welcome screen opens and nothing I do gets it to run output. I'm on Windows 10 and ver 1.82.2 of visual code. What did I miss? So, I am overwhelmed already. Either my version is much newer than yours or there is a major difference from a Mac to Windows.
Edit: I totally removed vscode and reloaded. Now it looks like yours, but as soon as I press f5 the command pallet starts asking node.js, etc?? After all the programming I did in the 60's and 70's this program is far from intuitive and seems to have way too many options. I hope you will tell me what I am doing wrong.
Edit2: Loaded VS code on Linux and behaves the same. Press f5 and the command pallet comes up the same.
Edit3: Ok, after hours of mucking about, found how to load node.js and npm on windows and Debian. Now this jsSample.js works.

How can i make a desktop app that can store an excel file in installed program files and can launch it. This means that I can write my code in the excel file and put buttons in it using only vba. So i need a way to deploy an excel file as a desktop application.

Unfortunately, this did not work for me. Once I hit F5 the program never ran. I figured out that a debug program was never configured. I tried Node.js, but I kept getting an error. Once I figured out how to bring up the launch.json and run that, I went back to the jsSample.js to run the program. It looked like it ran, but never showed the result. I suspect I didn't set up something correctly with the debugger? I'm not sure. Do you have another video showing how to set up all of the basic configurations?
