Hi 👍 how did the faderport 16 last for you any repairs issues etc? 👍
ОтветитьNice to get a confirmation of my own experiences. Cheers!
ОтветитьI love when I forget that Im mixing a song in mono, and it sounds BEAUTIFUL to me, and then I realize, and "pop out of mono"! Its awesome!
ОтветитьGood practical advice thx
ОтветитьThanks Marcus, i had only been referring to mono, thinking that panning in, and volumes might make it pop, but never thought on that level you explain in this, this should be interesting as the many other noodles along the way... Your mixes sound excellent..
ОтветитьFor those that don’t know. You can have a custom keyboard shortcut to switch to mono and back to stereo on the main out.
ОтветитьThank you for another useful advice!)
ОтветитьThanks 🙂
ОтветитьThis HUGE. This is not a little tip Marcus. Thank you for opening my eyes and ears. This a HUGE tip that can helpany pepe that have problems with instruments battling the sound spectrum. Thank you thank you. I certainly will use this trick. Everything makes sense
ОтветитьRight on the money. Couple folding down to mono with an Avantone mix cube in the physical realm or using Steven’s nearfield in Slate VSX in the virtual realm can really help you find out what is masking what.
ОтветитьMany Pro mix engeneers mixin about 70% of time in mono with one speaker.
ОтветитьThank you Marcus, I really never thought about it this way. It's very valuable advice!
ОтветитьGreat explanation! Will try it out 😊
ОтветитьMaybe I've misunderstood this, but when a hard-panned source is summed to mono don't you lose 3dB (or whatever the pan law defines). If so, how can you set relative levels? Cheers!
ОтветитьI am going to have to explore this. Why am I only realizing this now?
Thanks Marcus
When i lately started to mix in mono as well, I suddenly noticed my working progress got much faster and the sound quality got much better by reason of what you refer to in this video! Thank you for confirming me 🙏👍🏻
ОтветитьI now do about 80% of the production and 100% of the mixing.mastering in mono. The ability to notice frequency masking and tracks hiding each other was also a gamechanger :)
ОтветитьGreat explanation
