Too much oil

Sooooo, basically: Don't use the air frier. SOAK that stuff in oil, then spray with oil, then flip and spray with oil. Whatever you do, DON'T AVOID REGULAR FRYING. Just completely defeat the air frier and convert it into a deep frier and you'll have accomplished VERY realistic deep fried tofu by simply deep frying them in the wrong device, with extra effort through careful separation and occasional flipping. Got it.

what's the benefit of using a Z bag instead of mixing every thing in a bowl? Apart from using a Z bag ?

I was under the impression - perhaps wrongly - that air frying was much healthier since very little oil is used. But this recipe calls for a lot of oil, in my estimation. Am I missing something?

Further, eating too much of this creates permanent allergies to soy - I know people who over did it to become “vegan”

Probably not the o lot one thinking this but I don’t see them enough: tofu press. They are amazing. The days is stacked plates and paper towels are over. Lovely recipe and thank you.

Where did you purchase the oil spray bottle? Did it come with the air fryer? I had one that came with it but it was a pump and spray and it didn't spray for very long and was a pain to pump.
