Thanks everyone for waiting patiently as I worked on this video! It took forever but I'm glad I had such a big backlog of recorded races to show examples from. This guide is more than enough to help you get over 10,000 VR online, so keep practicing if you're not there yet!

A few days ago I went back to playing mario kart 8 on my wii u after having quit for almost a year. Before quitting I used to go forward with my right stick instead of with the a button and I've been doing that for the last few days. Do you all advise me to try and use a or keep using the right stick?

Awesome video! I'm pretty good in 150cc but never learned 200cc because it was so chaotic and fast and i couldn't make the turns so this video helped a lot.

I would love it if you could include the builds in your next video. Like how do I know which combo has a great mini turbo stat if it is hidden and which combos are the best if you look at the different weight classes.

I’ve been playing for years and have always been good (12k now) playing toad, biddy buggy roller clouds because I liked how it looked and felt. Only know am I learning the meta and it turns out that that’s similar to your beginner build. lol

all these years of playing MK8U and I JUST now learn that you don’t have to shake the entire goddamn console to do a trick 😐

Genuine question : If Auto acceleration is on, can't you press B to slow down or stop?

The biddybuggy baby combo was seriously nerfed in the latest patch. The Yoshi teddybuggy is now an all around better choice.

to accelerate you can also press Y which i find more comfortable

From what i've heard, sandbagging has become useless, because you AFAIK you can't get a good item from sandbagging anymore

i have a lot to practice and its hard to get better.

Just something to add: they have nerfed bagging (as of wave 6), so reversing into the same box in the same position in a race means you wont get strong items anymore. Best of luck folks
